I purchased this for my father who has been wheelchair bound for about 2 years. It made a world of difference in helping him stand up and move to a chair, toilet or different locations. It has enabled transfers by people who normally may not have the strength to do so. This product is a safe, reliable way to transfer a patient, especially helpful when the patient maybe larger than the caregiver. As a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I strongly recommend trying the Patient Lift.

This is a very sturdy stand assist. The only things I would change is there is a gap where the two sides of the seat come together that can pinch if care is not taken. Also, the pull pins that unlock the seat are very hard on the fingers when pulling to open. Some kind of padding on these would be nice. Other than those two things it works very well for transfer as long as the patient has enough strength to stand until the seat can be unlocked and put into position for sitting. The base adjusts very easily with a tap of the foot.
