Pocket Anesthesia

I have owned the 3rd edition of this book as a medical student, the 4th as a resident, and now the 5th as an attending anesthesiologist.The 4th was a departure from the previous editions in that it abandoned the previous loose leaf "binder" format for a paperback spiral notebook format. This was a mistake (in my opinion), since the new format was far less durable.Therefore I awaited the release of the 5th edition with bated breath. My copy, purchased on release day, is spiral-bound (like edition 4), but with a thick hardcover (like edition 3). Critically, the spiral binding is thicker and more durable than the previous edition. This seems to take advantage of the strengths of both formats. My hope is that it will be more durable than the previous version of this essential book.Content is excellent, as always.It will therefore take its rightful place in my sling bag. Well done!

5th edition is spiral-bound with a hard cover making it more durable than previous editions that were spiral-bound with paperback cover. Great information, great book.
