A remarkably designed free-standing shelving unit for very small laundry rooms!!!
Where to even begin? To start off with, our home (a newer design), unfortunately has a very small laundry room (or should I say laundry nook or cubby hole), only around 81" wide and 72" deep with a height of 8'. Everything we looked at (on various sites) had a variety of nicely designed shelving units, but unfortunately, nothing really appropriately sized for overally small laundry rooms like ours. We had almost given up until we saw this Ulif U13 Medium Over Washer and Dryer Storage Shelves on Amazon Another nice surprise is you have a choice of several sizes - we ordered the size 22"D x 57.8"W x 77.4"H - which wound up being absolutely perfect (fit just right) for our smallish laundry room.Suggestion: Regardless of which size you order, you "want" the one that has a 22" depth on the bottom portion, so as to offset anything heavy you place on the shelves once assembled. Keep this in mind - look for the 22" depth option (which only applies to the bottom base poll area (not the shelves).Instructions are very easy, and we were very impressed at the packing of this product in the box. There were no rattles of loose parts and the box (a heavy one at that) arrived without any dents or scars. Everything was bound together superbly, and it took me 15 minutes just to unpack and separate all the parts - which shows a high degree of carefullness on the part of the manufacturer. Now it is important when assembling this unit that:1. First, look and study the rear of your washer and dryer. In our case, we have a forward facing dryer (door forward), and an overhead washer (opening on the top). We can easily see that if most folks aren't careful, they'll just quickly assemble everything without studying everything sticking out behind your washer dryer - which includes the following:a. DRYER: The height of the rear dryer hose (measure the top most part of the hose) from the floor. You don't have to remove the dryer vent hose at all - but it's important to know how high it is, so that long rear brace on the shelving units is attached high enough to not interfere with the dryer hose.b. WASHING MACHINE: Prior to trying to slide the assembled shelving unit behind and beside the dryer, temporarily disconnect the hoses from the back of the washer as they will get in the way of you trying to place the assembled shelving wrack behind it. Note - once you have placed the shelving units behind the washer/dryer, you can then reattach the washing machine hoses. This is because the lower rear horizontal brace would interfere with the AC cord and hoses behind the dryer if you don't temporarily remove them first. If you have a top loader washer (like we do), raise the lid - and now measure from the floor to the top of the lid. This is essential so that the lower shelves are not prematurely installed low enough so as to interfere with the opening of the washer door/lid. For example, ours measured 78" high from floor to the top of the lid - so our first shelf (on the washer side) was placed at a height of abount 80" - and it worked out perfectly. The good thing about this unit is that there are no screws - meaning, that if you make a mistake with regard to the height of any of the braces or shelves, you can adjust without having to unscrew anything. That's why I gave the suggestions above, so you don't have to make the initial mistakes that we did.So just remember, look behind your washer and dryer and visualize you having to set the rear portion of this shelving unit (legs and braces) behind them. You will immediately see what you have to temporarily do to ensure that the washer hoses and AC cord are not in the way. Again - you can reattach all those items after you place the unit behind the washer/dryer. We first assembled the bottom and mid portions of this unit and placed it where it was supposed to go behind and beside our washer/dryer. We then assembled the rest of the unit (shelving and topmost poles) right in the laundry room, and all worked out perfectly. So we give this a solid 5. It worked out perfectly. See attached photo to see how small our laundry room is (it's actually a laundry nook for lack of a better term) and with this shelving unit installed - talk about a perfect fit.

Fit with my 27-inch washer and dryer
For those who may have questions like I did: My washer and dryer are exactly 27.0 inches wide, and I ordered the U13 Medium. As you can see, they do fit, but it is a tight squeeze. I am able to lift the lid to the washer, as the shelving unit has to sit back a little bit to leave room for hoses, etc. The item arrived undamaged and packaged really well. Something to keep in mind if you are debating purchasing and returning if it doesn't fit where you want it: re-packing will be exceedingly difficult. There are a ridiculous number of zip ties holding everything securely together, and it is packed with no room to spare. The instructions were fairly easy to follow, but I had to assemble it in place, which was a little tricky in my small space. The shelves do hold quite a bit, but they may eventually start to sag if you overload them with heavy items. The whole unit is pretty sturdy. I did not anchor it to the wall, but it does not feel like it would tip over at all. Obviously, you'd have to use your own judgement in that regard. Overall, if you're looking for shelving and are unable to drill into your walls for whatever reason, I think this item is a good choice for the price.

Good utilization of space, needs two people to assemble
Bought this because I needed storage in a small laundry room but didn’t want to permanently mount a shelf I might have to remove later as I’m renting. I got the white version to match the room and washer/dryer. You really need two people to assemble as you have to do the bottom supports around your machine configuration. Unplug electrical cords and unhook your water lines before starting, and maybe even your dryer exhaust if possible, then move your machines out a little to give you room. Make sure to leave your shelf high enough to open the lid if you have a top loading washer, and account for your hangers when doing the upper shelves so they’re not hitting them if you want to hang clothes. Even after you’ve put it together with all supports and shelves it’s a little unstable until you anchor it to the wall. But once it’s finished it adds so much utility to the space. I’m really glad I bought it.
