I ordered these bugs for all my grandkids to play with at my house, but my three year old grandson immediately claimed them as HIS bugs, and he has included them in almost all of his pretend play since they arrived. They've attacked me, his siblings, and his construction vehicles. They have ridden on an electric train, swam in the kiddie pool, and climbed up and down the slide more times than I can count. We've also had to watch Youtube videos for many of the bugs, so now I know more about creepy critters than I'm comfortable with. The set includes the usual bugs; spider, cricket, etc., but it also includes a couple of unique ones, like the cicada and the mosquito. It's funny to see a mosquito as big as a scorpion, but then again, we live in a rural part of Michigan and sometimes it seems like they really are that big. Unlike some of the other bug sets that I’ve looked at, this one has twelve completely different bugs, instead of two or three of the same kind. The butterfly is a little flat, but they are all are nicely detailed, and so far, none have lost any legs or antennae, so they seem pretty sturdy. It’s just amazing how a simple set of toy bugs can foster so much fun, curiosity and imagination in a child, and I would definitely say these bugs are worth the price.

PRO: These make really great still life subjects for drawing and painting. There's a wide variety of insects. They are colored.CON: The details on these can be a little sloppy. I guess they have trouble with fine details in injected plastic molding.
