These Smallrig replacements for Sony NP-F970 batteries are ma very well. Moreover their capacity, 10,500 mWH, is much higher than the original 6500. They are als innovative with USB charging and out ports, and a digital remaining charge display. I plan to u them on a Smallrig JibOne motor.

I recently went to shoot some video without a nearby wall outlet for the first time in a while. Found that every single one of my NP-F970 batteries were dead. Full charge was lasting only a couple minutes. I went to check out what kind of replacements were available and I found this huge capacity one. I love that it has a little OLED screen on it that shows the percentage on the battery and it can actually charge the USB-C and it can charge USB-C and USB-A devices through ports on the battery itself.I used one of these on a recent trip instead of my normal portable battery banks, and it worked great. Smallrig is a great brand, and this is a great product. Highly recommended if you're in the market for a high-capacity NP-F970 battery.

My first review was not very positive. The battery only stayed charged for about 3 hours, and it took over 24 hours to charge it back up. I did have a little chat with Small Rig, and we agreed that if they sent me a new one, I would give it another try.I have been a big fan of Small Rig for years, and when I saw that they released this battery, I was really excited to get it. Since I have added a few things to my rig, I felt I needed a battery like this.Well, it paid off. The battery powered my monitor and my remote focus wheel while lasting the entire day of shooting, which was 9 hours. The recharge took only 3-4 hours.

Edit: Updated as the replacement unit had no issues. Same pluses as before - nice to have a battery read out as a percentage, which lets you know better how much you have left instead of just 4-5 pips. Smallrig construction makes up most of the connectors/adapters in our shop, so it's nice to have an option to go to reliably for battery as well.Customer service is responsive so definitely a good experience.I've ordered two of these. The first one was great - it's super convenient to have the battery read out as a percentage, and the field life is good. USB-C is also a quality of life feature that's worth paying for.The problem is QC. My second is permanently stuck at a maxiumum of 95%. It isn't a reduced capacity issue, and both are new (not used/renewed). Unsure what the issue is, and Smallrig requires the user to pay for shipping both ways on warranties and repairs.Your mileage may vary, but wanted to highlight this for everyone else, as it's certainly not ideal. Losing 5% off the top isn't a deal breaker, but other folks might have worse luck - with having to pay for both ways on shipping, you're kinda left holding the bag.

Purchased to go with my Shinobi monitor. It weighs as much as the monitor, lol. But I love it. Charged quickly, and I shot for two hours straight and never had to worry about losing power. I think it was at 80% when I was finished. I love that it came in colors other than black. On a multicam shoot I can distinguish my batteries at a glance.

Quality battery, used it at an event on my Roto light and got several hours out of it, still had 50% left. Display let you know exactly where you're at. USB charging port has input and output, so you can charge another device with this. Still early days, but feeling very good about the purchase
