Dungeon Crawl Classics #103: Bloom of the Blood Garden (DCC DUNGEON CRAWL CLASSICS)

Send your group of angry villagers through a maze of gardens filled weird statues and angry plants! Make it to the manor house and uncover the mystery of whats going on. Edgar Johnson writes fantastic adventures. This is a great addition to DCC!

I and several other people ordered this to receive #104 and all of us received #103. The product image and text are wrong. #103 is a fantastic adventure, but this really needs to be fixed.

This adventure is not DCC 104 Return to the starless sea but is actually DCC 103 Bloom of the blood garden. This listing should be removed to properly reflect the product being sold.That being said, DCC 103 is a good adventure and funnel in its own right if a little combat heavy in the first half. I was hoping for a sequel to the legendary Sailors on the Starless sea to arrive but I got this very solid module instead.

The first section of the adventure is definitely the highlight with multiple ways the party can go in simple left or right choices easily pushing them up to their goal of getting to the Manor at the top of the hill.Your group may do some backtracking if they want to be thorough, and that will bring it over the 4 hours (My group completed it in 3.75 hours with two 5 minute brakes.)The bad:The 2nd portion is a bit bland as they go through the home and is a bit too linear with only one portion to the cellar (originally ran as a convention module; it could be worse)Also in the 3rd map, area 3-1 and 3-2 are a bit flip-flopped. They enter through area 3-2.Neutral Points:Expect to give descriptions from the DM map as the read aloud text and the descriptive text in the paragraphs below do not mention the doors or how the PCs can move forward.Also I would’ve liked Patron Invocations for the two patron as well as a spell for each of them (Narfaltha a goddess of seasons, and The Demon Seed (A Demon of Chaos.)Overall I highly recommend this module as a funnel, and given the perfect timing I would say it’s even better than Sailors of the Starless Sea.

I a huge fan of this RPG. They sent the wrong book. It was damaged in the mail.Not mad though. Just reordered the right one.
