Good Look. Excellent Value.
If you're here, chances are you already know what you're in for. But... Just in case: depending on skill level, replacing this headband is what some may consider to be a major [no pun intended] or impossible task involving de-soldering/re-soldering, so the listing's claim of "[EASY INSTALLING] No tools or adhesives necessary to replace and install," is simply not accurate. Luckily, plenty of pictorial and video tutorials on this procedure are easily accessible online. I am pleased that the listing clearly identifies this product as being made of "faux leather" rather than relying on cryptic nonsense such as, "made of premium leather material" to skirt the fact that it is not made from animal hide.As for the product itself, it is better than anticipated given the $8.99 price tag [at the time of my order], although it didn't look promising upon receipt. The headband is folded in half and placed in a tiny plastic bag at the factory, so a prominent crease is present at the center when it is taken out, because the headband has flexible plastic inserts in it that help it maintain its shape; however, this crease disappears once the headband adopts its final curved shape. Additionally, the ends of the headband are tucked into itself and glued to one of those plastic inserts (where the LEFT and RIGHT markings are). This insert is free to slide side-to-side inside, so chances are one of the ends will look crumpled when you get it (in my case, the LEFT side looked really bad). Do not pick at the material to try to fix it -- instead, insert a finger into the crumpled end, find the plastic insert, and slide it to a more centered position (you may need to recruit someone with smaller hands). When done correctly, both LEFT and RIGHT sides will look a little crumpled, but both will relax into the correct position when the headband settles into its final curved shape once installed. As seen in my pictures, the headband includes all the proper markings (including original branding), which is rare in third-party replacement parts and is greatly appreciated. The material has a pleasant texture and feel which is a welcome improvement over a flaking original headband. If you have the patience, time, tools, and skill, this headband is a superior (and affordable) alternative to zipper or snap-type headband covers.
