Cuts through meat like butter.
It electric carver came as pictured above and works beautifully.I do a ton of grilling and smoking of meat in the summer for family barbecues. I bought this electric knife for a BBQ rib competition. It may have help me come in first place in judging for appearance. It cut cleanly which helped with the overall appearance of my ribs. I really wish I would have purchased this sooner. The handle is made of a good quality plastic. I actually dropped it while cutting my ribs and it was fine and in good working order. The blades are nice and sharp. Its much easier to use than a standard knife.I was so busy during the competition to get pictures of it. However I was able to get some with my leftover winning ribs the next day. Check out the pics below.

Wicked sharp!
This works really well. I was surprised at how simple it was and still had solid features. The two that impressed me is the way it locks the blades in and the safety feature. The safety feature has a button that pretty much works like a gun safety does. When you push it, it pushed a plastic part through the trigger so you can't press it all the way down. Also, the blades are really sharp. So sharp in fact, that one of the guys who was cutting a turkey with it had the blade slide off the bone (it's not THAT sharp) and sliced his finger wide open. Thankfully, he didn't get any on the turkey and had gloves. It would be nice if the power chord was a few feet longer, but not a big issue.

HUGE timesaver for DIY Diaper Wipes and it cuts through paper towels!
This is an enormous game changer for me: I've been making my homemade diaper wipes since my two year old was born (out of Bounty paper towel rolls cut in half, with boiled water, coconut oil, Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils, and all-natural castile soap.) The time it took for me to cut through a paper towel roll from Costco was enormous, not to mention labor-intensive (phew, my triceps got strong).I was worried that an electric knife would not cut through a Bounty paper towel roll, and so I never invested. (Because serrated knives don't work as well as non-serrated).But 2 years later, I decided to give the electric knife a try.Now I was I had been using this all along!! It took me less than 20 seconds to cut through a paper towel roll. The results have never been smoother!!I also make my own bread, and I am never going back to using a bread knife either - using this to cut a loaf I just made makes it look like it could be packaged and sold. The slices are fluffy yet smooth, not torn down the middle like when I use a serrated bread knife. Will I be purchasing this in the future? The answer is a definite YES. As soon as I wear this one out, I'll be ordering another. And getting one for my parents, my inlaws, for Christmas white elephant gifts....you get this picture.Don't debate and just order this. For $14, this is an incredible quality bargain. Can't wait to carve a turkey this year!

Black and Decker electric knife
I have owned this electric knife for over a year now and we use it almost daily. Our first knife was a Presto Pride and we had it for many years before it died. We also own the Presto Pride bread slicing guide. When I looked for a replacement, this knife seemed the closest in description to what we originally owned. When we used it for the first time, the knife cut just as well as our old one. What I was surprised about was the weight of the knife in my hand. It is much heavier than our first one. It is also "fatter" around and my hand cannot close around the bottom end of it. Luckily, you don't have to hold the bottom, the knife gets skinny enough right near the power button you press. The Pros: 1. It is still running well after our first year. The weight makes me think that the gears are made of metal and not plastic like some of the other knives. (I cannot verify this as I have not taken my knife apart.)2. It has a "lock" switch on the power button to keep you from accidentally cutting when you are not ready. Both the switch and the button are easily pushed with one finger.3. It is easily operated by any adult with regular arm strength. No complaints for how it operates.Cons: 1. It IS heavy! My younger children don't cut the bread because they can't balance the knife with only one hand.2. The knife blade has an angle in it right where it locks into the handle. I am not sure why the manufacturer decided to put this angle in it, but it makes the length of the knife too short for our bread cutting guide. The blade slips out of the far side of the guide and cuts the bread crooked. Since we still had our first knife blades (Presto), we simply inserted the blades into the Black and Decker handle and "Presto!" (ha ha) the knife works great! It is still sharp and the knife locked smartly into place. It does not jiggle or overheat. It works perfectly every time. We have saved the new knife for when we cut meat or other items.3. Some might consider this a disadvantage. The power button you press to activate the knife blades is bowed out; it is not flat. Sometimes if my finger is a little moist, the shape makes my finger slip to the bottom of the long button. I got used to it after a while and was no longer afraid that my finger would slip off the button because there is a lip or edge there that catches my finger and stops it from any further slipping.Overall, it has been a very good replacement. Maybe the manufacturer could lengthen the knife so that it would fit all bread cutting guides. Other than that, we really like it!UPDATE: May 1, 2014The Black and Decker electric knife is still going strong!! We haven't had ANY problems!!I occasionally get frustrated with the curved or bowed-out power button because I would like to be able to press the button in the middle in order to balance the weight of the knife but my finger always slides to the lower end of the button. I guess if the knife weren't so heavy, I would be able to keep my finger where it is logically more comfortable.Other than this small inconvenience, the knife works great! We use it almost daily to cut our homemade bread.

Slice and Nice
I did not use an electric knife that often until I started up my upholstery hobby and now I use it all the time to cut foam. They wrok really well for this and I used to think that the more expensive product you bought the higher quality it would be but when I am using these electric knives for upholstery that does not seem to be the case. I had a bosch foam saw that was over 400.00 and it got used and abused to the poaint that it would not work anymore and I did not want to replace it by spending another 400.00 so I got 2 of these inexpensive knives and they worked just as well and worked almost as long. I could purchase 40 of these for the price of one high end saw. I use the second one for carving my festive feasts at home and they work great at that too. I would definately recommend this electric knife for its utility and cost effective features.
