Great value
Good quality for the price, fairly tight out of the package but after leaving my implement in the holster for a few days, it conformed nicely. Sits nicely on my belt and the ability to adjust the angle is very handy. Overall a very good buy.

Quality
Very well made and looks great a lil tight at first. But if you leave your gun in there for a couple days it forms nicely.

Surprisingly Nice
This OWB 1911 Leather Paddle Holster is very good for the price. It seems like quality thick leather that is nicely finished and sewn. A Standard Colt 1911 fits in it perfectly, but it is kind of stiff. It just needs some break-in time. The holster features an elastic retention button strap that, while totally functional, is not ideal for the 1911 design. The Colt .45 is designed, intended and often carried in what is called “cocked and locked” or Condition One. That means that the pistol hammer is “cocked” in the rearward position, the main safety is engaged and the gun contains a loaded magazine. The holster retaining strap should wrap around between the hammer and the back of the slide and cover the firing pin. This is considered “safe” because there are three safeties in play. You have the main frame safety, the secondary grip safety and the retaining strap blocking hammer contact from the firing pin. The retaining strap should be hard leather and strong enough to prevent the hammer from touching or effecting the firing pin .IMHO… This holster can NOT and should NOT be used this way. The soft elastic band is not up to that task, nor is it mounted at an angle that will allow “cocked and locked” carry. What the strap does is wrap around and put pressure on the grip safety. Most 1911 aficionados would recoil at carrying their beloved Colt this way. I can just hear my Father, may he be having a great time in his great beyond, going off like Patton on using this holster.Again, IMHO… This is a nice inexpensive holster. It’s great for range use and any reasonable carry needs as long as you don’t carry in Condition One. I think my Dad would go two stars on this holster for he was a “1911 guy”. I am rating it on what it is, not what my Dad would want it to be.
