Setting up the VDLPOWERPRO is straightforward, thanks to clear instructions and a user-friendly app. The app makes it easy to start or stop charging, schedule sessions, and monitor progress. The charger itself is solidly built, and the Type 2 connector plugs in securely, ensuring a stable connection.The wall-mounted installation might require professional assistance depending on your electrical setup.The initial setup of the app might take some time for those less tech-savvy.

For those people like me who are relatively new to the Electric Vehicle Market, the “Type 2” socket relevant to this item is the Europe-wide, universal socket for charging electric cars. You can charge any type (or Manufacture) of car from it, so long as you have the appropriate charging cable for your car - much the same as charging Apple or Android phones from a wall socket. This EV Charger made by “VDLPOWER” isn’t a brand I’d head of before, but now I’ve thoroughly Examined/Tested this Charger, I believe it’s Very Good Quality and Looks Strong/Durable with its Waterproof Construction. What I particularly like about this Charging Station is that it’s main power source is from a Commando Socket, which is a type of electrical socket and plug that is commonly used in industrial environments, such as construction sites, factories and events. It is also sometimes referred to as a “Ceeform” or “IEC 60309” socket or plug, after the International Standard that governs its design. This means that if you’ve already got one of these sockets already in your Garage (like me), you literally just plug this Charger in and start using it. It also means that it’s quite Portable and you can purely plug it in wherever there’s a Commando Socket available - Genius! It is controlled easily using an App on your phone which has many functions, such as planning your charging time in advance to make the most of off-peak tariffs etc. This item offers 7.2 kW, which is Fast Charging and is Tethered, meaning it comes with a Charging Lead (Type 2), which is approximately 5 Metres in Length, so should be adequate to reach most vehicles. Although this Amazon advert doesn’t state it, the main website “www.vdlpower.com” mentions that their products have a 2 Year Warranty, so that’s another Bonus for buying this item. Price wise, this is currently selling for £399 on Amazon, which is the lower price range for a 7.2 kW Fast EV Charger like this one, but you can pay over £1,000 for a Top Branded similar item? I’m Very Pleased with it and if If I were you, I’d save yourself hundreds of pounds by getting this Quality “VDLPOWER” EV Charger, rather than other more expensive Branded ones - You’ve got nothing to lose, especially with the Long Warranty it offers and knowing that it Complies with the strict EU safety, health or environmental requirements (CE Certified)! This EV is ready to be fixed but not had a chance to properly install it yet. But, from the looks of it, it looks robust, well made but heavy. The app looks easy to use, the spec looks top notch. Fantastic piece of kit, highly recommend getting it.Will update once installed
