It's better than expected given some of the previous reviews. It's quiet, really quiet. The way some people complained I was thinking it was going to sound like a shop vac full of marbles. It is actually quieter than the 5-in desktop fan I have.The airflow is decent. I can feel it from several feet away, walking by it feels like walking by an air conditioner set on low. Very cool air.The only problem I had was that Amazon shipped in its original packaging. That made it a target for theft and it had no padding to protect it from the shipping process.

Use it as an air circulator, not as a fan unless you're right up next to it. It's about appropriately sized and powerful for a small to medium room. I used it last night to sleep reasonably well in a 90-degree apartment with no working AC. It does make some noise but not enough for me to mind. Others might mind though.

All of the awesome reviews so this is the one I landed on. The ability to function horizontally was a huge selling point. Used this fan on low speed for 3 days and it worked perfect. Now however it has developed a terrible noise, something is surely loose inside creating a racket! Reached out to customer service. Awaiting a reply.

The fan has a concentrated output that makes it a bit more challenging to place for exactly where you want it- but the concentrated airflow is effective.Unit comes with a tiny remote that is perfect for a night table or desk for quick on/off.I really wanted to love the fan, but after a few days use it won’t stop rattling on the inside. And not a kind of steady, drown it out as white noise rattle. It’s inconsistent and at night it’s worth being hot to not have to listen to the rattling.

We use this fan in its horizontal orientation to blow air upwards at about a 45 degree angle. It circulates the air in our living room very well, and does a good job of pulling air in from across the room. It has 3 speeds, which are well spaced in speed. The remote works well and is magnetic, which is great for sticking to the refrigerator! Feels pretty well made, and is rather quiet, but I really wish it had a way to oscillate.

After a few days of being in use the fan got pretty loud and developed a rattle. It also makes a terrible sound when you turn it off. Not sure if its a general product defect or a special case with the one I received but I wouldn't buy another one.

This fan stopped working properly in less than 2 months, I have about 10 Vornado fans and have only had to use my warranty 1 other time 5 years ago, I was sent a replacement immediately all I had to do is cut the cord of the old one.Now they want me to send my defective fan back?? Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but they won’t send me another until they get this one back. I had heard Vornado had sold out and it’s obvious in the new customer service. I’ve decided to send the old one in as soon as I’m able to find a box and have the time to do so but I am telling them to keep it and not send the replacement because if this is how it’s going to be from now on with Vornado I’m done. Less than 2 months old!! Unbelievable!!! Their warranty was the reason I pay a premium for a vornado but obviously they have changed under new ownership. Never again.So I was able to pick a new replacement and was sent a new fan after returning this one. There are many of these fans having the same problem and I really can’t even believe they wanted it sent back. This model is complete garbage.

Product works as described, sent on time. This one was factory refurbished, they sent an extra one in the box. Does the seller want it back or did they intend to send both?
