Nice fan but is a little loud at times!
Makes more noise than I had hoped for but circulates the air well across the room!

I like the engineering and flexibility.
I'm a fan of the DC motor tower fans and I have 3 in my living room. They are quiet, effective, and I have them set up so that the air in the room basically moves in a circle. I still get a pocket of warm air forming above the entertainment area. That is where this Vornado Airbar 6 comes in. They have a smaller version of this but this is the big boy at 44" ... and bigger usually means quieter. I was able to put this right behind my TV and push the air up the wall and blast that warm pocket right off the ceiling. It worked great. I love how you can rotate the barrel frame so that the air can be aimed just where I want it. The only drawbacks were that it is not a brushless motor, in fact one of the brushes has a little tick tick tick to it... it's either a brush or a bearing ... it's slightly annoying but not too bad. Remember how on your old PC you used to hear it accessing the hard drive all the time ? yeah, it sounds like that. I guess I should have packed the whole thing up and shipped it back to Vornado but that sucker is big and I didn't save any of the packing material. I was hoping that if it was a brush it would smooth itself out after a while but that hasn't happened and it's been about 6 months now. I figure it's a new product and maybe they haven't gotten all the QC set in place yet. Anyway, I don't use it constantly so I'm trying to live with it. It was disappointing.

Bought two, both loud, broken, difficult and expensive return process
The first arrived in a completely torn up box and the fan itself was damaged physically but also made a loud humming noise. Air also only flowed from a portion of the open vent led areas. I had hopes that a new, un damaged version would work well. The replaced item came nicely packaged and appeared un damaged. It was great for 2-3 days and then out of the blue that loud clunking noise of the blades of the fan began. It is simply too loud to bear. I’ve taken it a part and put it horizontal and upright as a tower and the noise continues. It sounds clunky and loud disruptive… people I speak with on the phone can even hear it. Big bummer for what I thought was a high-quality brand. Returning the second item… but the nail in the coffin is that the company has limited return options so I’ve had to purchase an expensive new box to ship it back (this is not a typically sized item!) so I’m negative money and out a fan and spent a lot of time trying to just get this to work in the midst of a brutal heat wave :-( If it were not such an expensive product I would not be so adamant but this is too much money to spend on a product and not have it do its intended purpose and perform so poorly.

Beautiful
Beautiful fan but was too big/long for my space. There is a shorter model but opted for an oscillating one instead so I returned it. But it is a very nice fan. Would have loved to keep it but couldn’t. I recommend for larger spaces. The concept of design is very “state of the art” and innovative. It’s really cool the way it can be placed either horizontal or vertical. Leave it to “Volnato”

Would not recommend
I got this for its ability to mount it horizontally but sadly I won't be keeping it. It had a really annoying rattle from day one which prevented me from running it while asleep and really bothers me while awake. The design seemed like a cool idea but it really falls short in implementation.

Powerful but loud
I really appreciate the fact that this fan can be position horizontally or vertically, and while it does not oscillate, the airflow can be directed by adjusting the fan. The positives: 1. It moves a lot of air in each of the three settings. 2. Appearance is slick and modern with simple controls for operating. 3. Remote has a magnetic back so it can be easily put up ( I leave it on the vertical rail of my closet storage). The negatives: 1. It is loud and noisy. Even on the lowest setting it rattles and has to be turned of so I can fall asleep. I live in a loft so even though it’s next to the upstairs closet, I can hear it going throughout the space. I tried to get used to the noise , but it changes intensity and pitch for no apparent reason, so there’s no way to get used to the rattling because it changes up sporadically. Will continue to use it during the day, but really disappointed in the noise level.

shipped quickly. the product is amazing
I positioned this to blow air down the back of a large display and then across the desk below. effectively cools the display, a mini PC and me. is relatively quiet even when moving quite a volume of air.

great air flow
I use my vornado airbar below the desk, it works great for that purpose with good airflow and it keeps me from sweating. the design is very sleek and it fits most places, my desk is very deep so I don't have issues with kicking it, but I guess that's not the case for everyone. the remote control makes it easy to turn on and off, the 3 speeds are adequate, max speed is not that loud so I can see myself using it if I need a higher airflow. the build quality is all right, it has legs to stabilize it on the floor but the air flow direction requires manual adjustment
