The turntable works as advertised and makes it easy to spin around whatever is placed on top, for the most part. The base has non slip feet on it so that the turntable stays put where you set it down.HOWEVER - whatever you place on TOP of the turntable needs a non slip bottom, or it is just going to slide around on the smooth aluminum surface. Aluminum is great and sturdy and light - but it is also slippery and that's a bit of a problem if you put, say, another piece of aluminum (MacBook) on top of it.I'm sure it will work great as long as the thing on top is non slip - or you add some kind of non slip material between the base of the item and the top of the turntable.

Precarious balance is risky for my monitor. Wish it was larger and better balanced!

Without fully thinking this through (something I excell at all too often) I ordered this turntable for use with a monitor...that has a base with two long legs that support it. It did not occur to me until a couple days later that this 5"x5" inch turntable absolutely would not work for my monitor. After have a nice laugh at myself, it didn't take me very long to think of another use for it.In my game room, I have 3 TVs of different sizes, the smallest of which has a centered, rectangle support. Hooray! It is a bit wider than the 5" turntable, but just about spot on depth-wise and the turntable handles it like a champ. While this was not how I originally intended to use the turntable and hadn't even considered it until I realized my first choice was incompatible, I believe it is serving a much better purpose with this TV than it ever would have with my monitor in my office. This TV gets used by more people and more frequently, and has a far greater need of being adjusted in the way this turntable accomodates.OK...all that being said, I have to say this turntable is worth its weight in gold. It feels like a mechanism that was built by NASA. It is satisfying to turn and holds its position very well. It is super low profile and feels extremely strong and durable. The way I have mine you cannot even see it beneath the TV stand, which is very cool, BUT it seriously almost feels like a shame to have it hidden.This is a fantastic, premium turntable. Well worth the asking price. Just be sure to check the stand you intend to use it with before purchase!

I love this little turntable for my monitor. Super convenient to use and great to have the ability to swivel the monitor into whatever position needed.
