Takes a lot longer to dry than the instructions say.
This blackhead removing face mask comes in a nice looking box and feels like an OK quality kind of thing.I thought I’d try it out on my nose area (even though I don’t have any blackheads that I’m aware of!)Spreading it on, it seemed more willing to stick to my finger than my nose and the instructions just say to ‘apply the appropriate amount on the clean face’. Unsure as to what the ‘appropriate amount’ was, I smeared it with some areas a bit thinner and some a bit thicker to see if it made any difference. The listing talks of a ‘free silicone applicator’, but there was no such item in my packaging. To be fair, the finished application looked a bit smeary and like I’d daubed tar over my nose. It was quite glossy and had a good sheen to it even when dry.The Amazon listing is actually a bit inconsistent. The brand is listed as “Sea & Moon”, but further down it refers to “Camden Cosmetics charcoal peel off mask” and the actual packaging and tube says its “Kormesic Professional Skin Care” non of which inspires confidence or exudes quality! So I then waited the 15-20 minutes for the mask to set as per instructions (or 20-30 minutes according to the listing). After 25 mins, it was still pretty moist and wasn’t about to peel anywhere. After 30-40 minutes I was starting to feel a bit of tightening so thought the time had come to remove it.It was pretty easy to start peeling from the bottom and it came away quite well, but there was one area on my nose where it must have been a little bit thicker and this was no where near set. In the end I just wiped that off with some tissue, but it probably wasn’t going to pull many blackheads that way. It probably needed longer. So in summary, its not the best face mask experience I’ve had, but it does work if you give it long enough to set (or make sure the amount you apply is ‘appropriate’). My skin did feel refreshed afterwards and I didn’t get any negative reaction to it!Bamboo charcoal is actually listed as the last ingredient so I’m not sure how much there is in it. It feels quite pricey but you get enough in the tube to cover quite a lot of skin, and I’m aware there are much more expensive options too.

Not terrible, but disappointing, awkward and expensive
Introduction & Amazon Shop PageThis face mask smells great, but it awkward to apply and doesn't go very far.Pros and Cons+ Smells good+ Exfoliates on removal- Expensive- Only 2 uses in a tube- Awkward to applyPackagingThe tube comes in a card box, and is nicely presentedQualityThe mask feels rich and smells great - so the ingredients seem light good quality. alas, the branded slogan of 'activated bamboo charcoal' is a bit misleading, as the bamboo charcoal is literally the smallest ingredient in the entire mix.Performance and User ExperienceThis is where things start to break down. Application is incredibly awkward as the mask is way too thick to spread out on the face. This means you need half a tube for full face coverage, and even then it's a real hassle to smooth it out. My application ended up patchy and smeared all over the place, and this wasn't even close to my first face mask rodeo! If you have even a slight amount of stubble, this also makes it even worse and it almost doesn't spread at all, so you have to cake even more on to get covered. It feels great on, and has a mild tea-tree-y tingle. It also smells fantastic. After 20 minutes, removal failed, likely due to the amount I needed to apply to get my face covered. After 30 minutes, again, no dice. 40 minutes after application I gave up when the majority broke apart during removal. The only bits that came off okay were some of the forehead and top of the cheeks. Anything that had even short stubble under just broke up and I ended up washing the whole thing off in the shower which took ages and was a hassle. Still, half of my forehead feels smoother and exfoliated, so I guess there's that.Value for MoneyNot really - at £9.99 for 100g it seems okay, but when you need half a tube for one application the price seems a little high compared to competitors.Final ThoughtsOverall, not terrible, but let down by the massive amount needed for one mask, the poor spread-ability, and lack of integration with even short stubble makes this a 2/5.
