This game is hilarious
This game is a laugh riot. The idea of some ninja fighting his way across a golf course (and fighting dragon bosses at the end of the level) while also playing 9 holes is as hilarious as it is ingenious. How can you not laugh hysterically at that concept while also enjoying the game?I'm glad this game didn't fall into obscurity just because it was made for a barely profitable console like the Atari 7800. This game should be just as much of a legend as all those classics I played on the NES as a child.

This game is hilarious. Make sure you have a two button controller!
If you have an original 7800 and you don't have this game, just go ahead and buy it. Trust me. It's a laff riot and a genuinely great time.If you have a 2600+, you should still buy it, but make sure you have a 7800-compatible controller. The included CX40+ alone will not work! That is probably the reason for the high number of returns. You can even use a Sega Genesis-compatible controller. Also make sure to install the latest firmware following the manufacturer's instructions! Or look on AtariAge where the manufacturer has shared some early access firmware that is even better. The game may be confusing at first for some. For the golf segments, you first use the joystick to control where you are aiming - look for the small white dot on the overhead map of each hole. It is continuously moving on a line extending away from where the ball is. When you press the left button, you will hit the ball with as much force as required to get the ball to where that little dot will be after you swing. For the brawling parts, it's important to collect powerups to keep your health topped up. Generally it is a good idea to run as far as you can without fighting enemies, though. Water hazards are dangerous because of the sharks but sand traps are sometimes easier than the green - use that to your advantage! For the boss fights, it's just a matter of timing. Hit the boss more than they hit you. They're relatively easy. This reissue is nicely made with a great manual reproduction and a neat little sleeve for the cart. Unfortunately Amazon tends to ship these in plastic bubble mailers, so often the box gets a little crushed. I just told myself that it is the genuine 7800 experience - a lot of my vintage boxes are similarly crushed!Whatever you do, give this wacky and charming game a try.

Worked perfectly
I've wanted this game for while, yet the prices were outrageous. This product gave me exactly what I wanted, and a descent price

Fun Game
This is a fun game, even if it can get a bit repetitive. The challenge level is decent, and completing all nine stages gets tricky. I like the packaging, and the full-color manual is a nice touch.

Plays on the soon to be released Atari 7800 +
The media could not be loaded. I always wanted this game. I have an original Atari 7800. (My console has slight modifications making it easier to hook to a tv.) Ninja Golf plays great on my old system. This a re-release; an original copy from 1990 can cost up to $200. And it is still hard to find one. Buying from Amazon is great as they are a well oiled machine, compared to the “new Atari.com website.” Games off that website can take a long time to receive, even if they are available. As far as this game, it is more of an offbeat beat ‘em up and not much of a golf game. But it is a must have if you are going to get the 7800 plus, or own the 2600 plus. Or have a 7800 from the 80s.
