As a fan of Midnight Diner on Netflix, I’ve become addicted to Cat Rice - a bowl of sticky rice topped with dried, smoked bonito flakes and a shake of good soya sauce - but I really coveted the expensive block of katsuobshi used by the Master in Midnight Diner rather than the commercial packets of ready cut flakes, so when I saw this I couldn’t resist it. I also invested in an authentic Japanese bonito slicer that cost an arm and a leg.The resulting Cat Rice was astonishingly delicious … intense and so tasty. I will certainly buy this product again and will look forward to making dashi stock for a perfect bowl of ramen.

昔使っていた鰹節削りが出てきたので、メンテのつもりであちこち手を入れてきれいにし、カンナの刃も研ぎましたので、背節を楽しみたくなり購入しました。子供のころは、毎日両親が味噌汁や納豆にシコシコ削っては使っていたのを思い出します。鰹節をなるべく立てて削るんだぞ！と父から教えられたのことが懐かしく、さっそく熱々ご飯にかけて、醬油をチョイたらし「猫まんま」をしてみました。すでに削って袋に入っているものとは、全く別物のようで幸せな気分になれました。これからことあるごとに、楽しみたいと思います
