Unfortunately, I tried a cheaper splint. It actually did more harm than good. Let me tell you about this new brace. Helps me either be pain free or greatly reduces pain that has tortured me for about 6 years. Immobilizing my thumb is the best method for my thumb/joint pain. I’ve tried injections from an orthopedic physician, massage therapy & oral medication. This well-made, easy to use brace gave me unexpected but great benefits.

I have carpel tunnel and it occasionally flares up. When I ended up with De Quervain's syndrome (tendinitis of the thumb) I was given a spica splint to wear that wasn't a whole splint for the hand. It didn't work well as it had no way to hold the splint tight to the wrist and it kept feeling like it was twisted. Also the Velcro was too good as every time I removed the spice to wash my hands or to ice my wrist it caused pain and made my wrist hurt worse. So I stated looking for an alternative to what I had and found the FEATOL Brace. It's easy to put on and adjust, it holds my wrist and thumb so they don't bend easily and my wrist is starting to feel better. Highly recommend this brace is you have De Quervain's syndrom.

This brace provides wonderful stability for my thumb and my wrist very pleased with the decreased pain I’m experiencing. Product seems durable and is comfortable. Velcro is secure.

Purchased the S/M size based item description / sizing for my 6.5 inch wrist. However, that size didn't work for my wrist/arm. The straps and metal supports weren't lined up properly. Purchased the M/L of the same brace and it works perfectly. Recommend you order the larger size unless you have a very small wrist AND very thin arm. Well made, comfortable, and hopefully will do what it says it will!

I ordered this brace in a size S/M. My wrist measures 6.25 and this item fit like it was custom made for me. If you want a little more wiggle room, or if your wrist measures over what mine is..... I recommend that you order the next size up.There's two removable support bars, one for the thumb & the second for the wrist. I left both in (as I personally needed) but at least there's options if you do not want or need both.I purchased this for my chronically painful arthritic wrist and thumb. The stability of this item is amazing and made with quality materials. The velcro is very strong and stays attached without fail. This brace provided me with a tremendous amount of relief. My doctor wanted my thumb fully immobilized to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. This was perfect for that and provided me with instant relief. I am able to comfortably wear this all day and night as prescribed. What a lifesaver this was for me, I wish I purchased it a lot sooner!**This brace is also washable, which is a huge plus! Just remove the bars first, wash and air dry.

About 6 weeks ago I started having severe pain and mobility issues with my thumb and wrist. I knew it wasn't carpel tunnel and subsequently found out it was De Quervain's. I didn't want to take more time to go to a specialist so I was told to get a specific brace to help. After three different purchases that were okay, I still had pain and it wasn't getting much better. I decided to try one more and bought this brace. After wearing it to sleep just one night I woke up with less pain and after 2 days it's definitely getting better. It provides complete stability and immobility for my hand to get better. It's comfortable as well. Works well and reasonably priced.

My mom (77) was wearing this for her arthritic thumb at the recommendation of her PT (worked great, by the way, giving her fantastic pain relief). When we were on vacation, she fell forward off a curb and landed right on this wrist. But for this brace and its sturdiness, she would have had a catastrophic wrist injury. Instead, the brace held her wrist firmly in place, it didn’t move at all, and she had an extremely clean break straight across— the orthopedic surgeon could not believe it! Her wrist also did not swell or get worse because of the brace use for the hours and days after.Of course, this brace is not meant to prevent or cure wrist breaks, BUT… for those on the fence whether to buy it, it will protect you from yourself…. :-) It is strong but the velcro is easily put on and off, even by arthritic hands, and while very sturdy, it is still comfortable, doesn’t rub your skin raw, and reminds you that you are your own best health ally!!!

Very disappointed that I waited 5 or 6 days for delivery. Big mistake was transferring the package to the United States Post Office.Too early to tell if the brace is effective. rubs at the base of the thumb to a point where I have to remove to give my hand a rest.Like the Velcro adjustable straps.
