Must have for Raw
I have fx3 and this monitor was build for it!!! Easy to use and wouldn’t trade it, it had little scuffs on it but they gave me a discount.

Horrible setup
I am shocked with how this product gets such good reviews. For starters, the design with the hard drive sticking out over 1/2” past the edge of the unit is just a terrible design. When I powered it up, you need to activate it online so you can use some of the more advanced CODECs like H.265 and ProRes RAW. This process is one of the worst I have ever done. The display gives a nice QR code to scan, but then you have to manually enter the serial number, which is printed in tiny font on the box. Then, you have to go through multiple displays to enter the Device ID, AID, RAW ID, etc. Why is this so complicated? Why isn’t all of that info part of the QR code so that all you need to do is enter your basic information and where you purchased the product from? I couldn’t even get the RAW ID to display because you have to plug in a camera with a RAW output, which I did and made sure the output on the FX30 was set at RAW, but it kept saying the input was not RAW and never gave me that information. This product is a display and monitor. It should do that very simply and do it well. This is a terrible beginning to this product. I am probably going to return it because I don’t like supporting garbage products that waste your time, and will spend a little more and get the BlackMagic product instead.UPDATE 5/2/2024I would take off the last star in this review if I could. Not only is this product overly complicated, but tech support is next to useless and flat out lied to me. They suggested that since I can't get a RAW ID, to pay the $19 dollars for the CODEC and that they would reimburse me. I pay for it, and then they asked for the receipt and the RAW ID. First of all, I bought the CODEC from their website and they have my name, so why do I need to send them their receipt? Second, I already told them that my unit is not giving me a RAW ID, even though my camera is set up with a RAW output on the HDMI port. Since then, they have completely stopped responding to me and as of this note, I have not been reimbursed. Avoid this company and their products!Update 12/6/24I finally figured out why I wasn’t getting a RAW ID. This monitor can only do 4k30 and not 4k60 which my camera is capable of doing. I hope this is helpful to others who are struggling with this same issue. I am still really annoyed with this product. They have multiple versions of this product and they don’t clearly state their capabilities here on Amazon. I should have gotten one of the other versions that are a few bucks more to get 4k60. Unfortunately, it is way too late for me to return this one and get the right one.

Absolutely necessary gear for videography
If you’re a serious videographer, this is a necessary part of your kit, hands down. Clean hdmi out records, external ssd for editing, load luts, you’re hindering your own workflow if you’re operating without this monitor

Awesome monitor/recorder. Easy to use.
I use the Ninja for creating educational videos for computer setup, boot screens, BIOS settings, etc. Great tool.

Not worth the trouble
Died 1 month after warranty. Wish I went a different route. Doesn't have the best color and it's frustrating to use.

difficult
i had a hard time trying to figure out how to use this and looking up videos how to update the software and use it to record... this is better for people that use this type of monitor on a daily basis its just not a plug and play thing
