Great Wi-Fi coverage
Taken with a data sim this could provide you with broadband for a fraction of the usual monthly charge especially if you are in an area of good 4G coverage but no viable fibre network. It is simplicity itself to install helped by a very user friendly app and is capable of good broadband speeds and linkage to wi if expanders

I would buy it again.
I have two of these devices, one is a 5G and the other is a 4G. Yes... there is a reason, they are in two different houses. In an attempt to provide backup internet a couple of years ago I bought the 5G device, swapping out an MR400 which had worked fine. Then I replaced the 5G device with a 4G device. The new X50-4G has been working fine and the lounge TV runs all the subscription services through it. Also in the loft is a CCTV camera (mounted externally) which is quite old and performs best when connected via a hard-wired connection to a hub/router. So in the loft is the X50-4G connected to a camera and providing WiFi for two TVs. The second TV is at the other end of the house and connected using mesh-WiFi via a X50 AX3000 Deco. No problems. So why only 4 stars? When I swapped-out the X50-5G I ended up having to reset and reconfigure both the X50-4G and the X50 Deco because, even though the Deco App has a facility allowing the replacement of a main unit, the replace function didn't do what it should have done. It took me half an hour to do what should have been a 5-minute job. Also these products are intended for inexperienced users who are trying to setup a network. For those people it works really well although adding devices takes longer than you might expect. You can connect a large number of devices and run your home using IoT connections if you wish.If you are experienced at setting up networks you may find this router frustrating. I tried using my previous knowledge and eventually gave up and downloaded the App. Also if there is a power-outage the network takes much longer to recover than the previous MR400 device. The 4G unit was attractively priced, a refurbished (and warrantee'd) device from the UK distributor. The installation described above is using the EE network and 5G is not available at that location. So when the need for another router arose I decided to employ the 4G device, which appears to perform exactly as the 5G device, and moved the 5G device to another location. At this second location the X50-5G is providing WiFi for domestic users and a WiFi connection for a Tapo CCTV camera. That is all working fine _and_ there is 5G coverage at that location via the 3-network.I have been using TP-Link products for a number of years and have found them to be reliable and to perform as expected. So if you are considering this device I expect you will find it does everything that you need.
