Fantastic!
I debated which mic to buy for weeks before purchasing the Perception 220, largely based on reviews posted here. I'd previously used a Shure SM58, but it wasn't as responsive as I'd expected so I looked into condenser mics. And I'm so pleased I did; this mic is exactly what I needed!I sing jazz, blues and soul, and this mic suits me perfectly. It picks up every nuance of my voice (so makes perfecting vocals that much easier) and has two switches to remove feedback and background noise when recording. It's rugged (so very heavy for something so small) and comes with a metal case and suspension cage to prevent vibrations, so it's great for gigging as well as studio use.The only fault I can find is that the pale blue, matt finish is easily marked by the cage, which leaves dark lines around the mic when they come into contact - although, had I set it up myself (instead of allowing my son to do it), I'd have been more careful and this may not have happened. A different surface, however, would prevent such issues. But, overall, I'm still very happy with my purchase. The Tiger mic stand (also available from Amazon) works very well with this mic - and a pop-shield can easily be attached. Regarding suitable mixers, I'm using the Behringer Xenyx 1002C, which arrived when I ordered the 1002B (from Amazon).4.5 Stars

Brilliant Sound
The reviews you will find just by googling AKG Perception 220 don't lie. This really is a great mic with great response for use in the studio. It's not a live vocal mic but you know that already or you'd be looking at Sure SM58's etc. So far I've used it with vocals, accoustic guitar, sax, banjo, accordian and piano as well as recording bird sounds outside (as in the feathered kind - nothing perverse!)It's so easy to use but this runs off PHANTOM POWER so MAKE SURE YOUR DESK/INPUT/RECORDING DEVICE has it. I'd consider myself a learned amature bordering on intermediate when it comes to my studio skills and this was easy to set up and I was getting great results within minutes. It comes in a metal flight case and spider cradle thing to reduce vibrations etc. I give this two thumbs up and was recommend this to any musician, song writer or podcaster with basic studio skills. It's not a £500 plus microphone but to my ears you're getting pretty damn close to that sort of quality sound.

Well Made and Good Value.
I read the reviews before purchasing this microphone and decided this was probably the most comparable to my requirements and equipment. I like the construction, finish and ease of use. Like a lot of people I'm not keen on my own voice and was, pehaps, expecting too much. I've experimented with the positioning of the microphone and am able to get very good results. All in all I would say that this is a very good all round microphone and excellent value for money. If I could add an extra half star I would and therefore make it 4 1/2 !

Great mic for the price
We use it to record radio talkshows and while it's not perfect and we'd rather use an expensive dynamic mic, the AKG definately does it's job and for the price there's absolutely nothing to complain about. We considered Audio Technica AT2020 but ended up with AKG because we thought it sounds better.

Exellent quality, great sound. I've used this for recording vocals and guitar too, and the sound was brilliant. No faults atall, no complaints and a decent price. Happy days :-)
