Very nice puzzle, type of sequential discovery. It takes a good while to assemble, can be tedious, so give yourself some time to finish and try not to break the pieces from the templates, but very well thought out!

The media could not be loaded. 10/10 would recommend for the puzzle lover. This took some time to put together (2+ hours), but the joy I got as I fitted each piece together, getting closer and closer to the completed piece, was fun in and of itself.He LOVED it and so did I.

I would love to give this 5 stars. It is ingenious and complex. But there are a few issues. First, it took me nearly 4 hours to assemble, and some of the mechanisms required me to ask my wife to literally lend a hand to hold pieces in place while I got everything lined up just right and clicked together. Second, the story is a little difficult to interpret as far as how to connect it to the puzzle box. It definitely could be clearer. Third, the pictures and text are difficult to see. They are laser etched into the wood, and some of them are definitely easier to see than others. They should be in a bold font. Fourth, some of the mechanisms are very finicky. Even once you have the puzzles solved, things do not always lock/unlock as they should. The biggest problem is probably the puzzle on the top of the chest. Some circles are supposed to be in an up position and others in a down position. However, the circles will not stay up on their own. You either need three people working on it at the same time (which is very tricky given the small size), or you need to use something to help hold the circles in the up position (I used little balls of paper jammed under the circles). So, while I do recommend this for people who enjoy puzzles and escape rooms, just be forewarned that it could be frustrating for both the person assembling it, and the person trying to crack the puzzles and open it.

Didn’t even open box. Cellophane was slightly torn on delivery and it was easy to see this was all just cheap cardboard. Not worth $35. A puzzle box gets moved a bunch of times to open. Given the material looked like it would fall apart before being built.

I’m going to break this review into two sections. First “the builder” my wife and then my experience with the puzzle box.The Builder Review:This would be a really good gift for a couple, one who likes building, one who likes solving. The pieces were labeled clearly. It included everything you need to do the building with. I would recommend a nail file or Emery board rather than the small piece of sandpaper they provide.One of the pieces that you punch out is actually a small tool that helps you push other pieces out that may be too difficult to do with your fingers. It was very helpful.Another thing that helped me was laying out a piece of plain white paper and after punching out the pieces I needed for one section, jotting down their numbers underneath. Some of the pieces are quite similar and you may think you are going to remember which is which and then get confused.The pieces go together very smoothly for the most part. If you have any trouble, you can use the included wax to make them slide together easier. The written instructions are very clear and the YouTube video is very helpful as well. I really enjoyed putting this together and learning the mechanics behind how the puzzle box works.For the building part of this product, I give it five stars.The User Review:I really enjoyed this puzzle, it’s the first one I got from them. If I remember correctly it took roughly 60-90mins give or take. I would highly recommend if you’re into puzzles like this.Will be definitely buying their other one. Puzzle is very sturdy and the mechanics/movement are very smooth as well. Hopefully this helps. This was a great gift item. The puzzle was cleverly made, and has given several people a headache until things click... 'locks' click, but so does your brain. I thought this would be roughly made with little attention to detail, I am happy to be wrong. I was pleased to watch the enjoyment it brought to others as well.
