Works great
I've been using Prime and then Safe for several years now. It always works great for treating the chloramines in my city's tap water, and the 4kg size is very cost-effective

gets rid of nitrite, nitrate, & chloramines
Was buying the bottled liquid version & paying the price. i couldn’t constantly buy RODI water it was getting expensive to top off . with the liquid Prime i could add the necessary amount to tap water & replenish the evaporated water loss in my reef tank but it was getting expensive. prime would allow for tap water usage & since it got rid of nitrate, nitrite as well i had no negative results . So i found the concentrated powder form & it does an awesome job. i probably will have the container for life since it last so long but no more buying RODI water .( until i get to instal RODI STSTEM - it’s just no feasible at the moment. this product is awesome - 5 gal water 1/2 of the scoop of powdered prime & no problems in topping off water for evaporation . my parameters in the tank totally stable . it’s the inly product out there that actually removed nitrate nitrite thats in high concentrations in my city tap water . ive tested the water before adding prime & the numbers are through the roof . i’ve added the prime & tested the same water afterwords & totally normal . great product . i have a co worker that was setting up a brand new 40 gal cube - i recommended using prime & especially during initial cycle set up & it made his transition effortless with no spikes in nitrate, nitrite issues. he was super pleased .

It's seachem
What else needs to be said this stuff is like the gold standard of dechlorinators a little goes a long way and with a bottle this big unless you work part time at sea world it should last well over a year I have. A 50 ,30,and 10 gallon tank and the only reason I'm buying another bottle is cause I have half of the last one to my sister and accidentally spilled a little less then 1/4 of what I had left..... I don't like running out even giving some away and being a dumb a#$ after almost a year a sill have a decent amount left and I do 40% weekly water changes

I won't use anything else in my tanks
This is the product fish stores don't want you to buy. This is the exact same product as Seachem Prime, just in the concentrated powder form. If you have huge tanks, this is the way to go. I've got 800 gallons worth of tanks right now and do weekly 50% water changes and it's lasted me well over a year. I suspect I'll have this a few years. This question comes up a lot in our fish groups; "when do you add the dechlorinator?" and my answer for you is while you are filling up. As soon as I turn the water over to start filling directly into my tank, I sprinkle the powder where it's filling so it can dissolve (although this isn't even necessary) you can add the powder before filling, during filling, or after you are done filling and your fish should be fine. I used to live in California where the water was TERRIBLE and even my delicate fry did perfectly fine with this. No need to add in a bucket before putting in your tank, it's not practical.FYI this product smells incredibly bad, this is normal. The fresh container gave me a headache when I first opened it. So keep the container closed whenever you can and consider putting it in a ziplock bag.

Great product...BUT BE CAREFUL!!!
Does what its suppose to do and well.... but there are drawbacks.1. IT SMELLS BAD in anything other than the bottle or in water, so if you have multiple tanks and want to use different containers other than the big bottle it comes in for easy access.....DONT! Your nostrils will thank you.2. Dosage instructions are very confusing. Instructions on the bottle is very different from instructions online. The difference in dosage instructions lead to losing $300 worth of fish.ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS:Use 200 mg Safe (scoop) per each 200 L (50 gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or per 50 L (13 gallons) for ammonia.BOTTLE INSTRUCTIONS:Use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 US gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 US gallons) for ammonia. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. So it isnt all bad it does go a long way and can be a really great product. Just wish SEACHEM fix those two big issues. I will be returning to SEACHEM Prime after this runs out.
