it has a nice heft to it. seems very sharp. wider than the other hori hori knife. I really like the shapely contoured handle; it seems like I could use this without it wearing out my hand after a while. The blade is 1/8" thick; I think I read 1 review saying the blade snapped in half; I can't imagine this doing that; they must have been doing some pounding on it with a hammer or something. Blade is slightly curved. I had been using a steak knife I bought at a yard sale & this is much better suited to gardening. Well worth the price; it is about $40 cheaper than the 1 at my local garden center & I like this better! Also it is more impressive in person. I like the sheath in that the knife is easy to get in & out of. If you're like me, an avid gardener, you'll love it.

This is the best gardening tool I have ever bought, hands-down. This is a solid, well-built tool, Be careful - it's sharp, but that's a good thing. It easily cuts through the thick clay soil we have in this area, and it makes weeding so much easier. It cuts through root systems, and it's small enough to cut out a wayward echinacea in the middle of one of my hostas without taking the entire hosta out. I haven't had cause to use the measurement scale yet but that is a handy thing to have. And it comes with a well-made sheath you can wear on your belt.Fantastic tool and I am recommending it to all my gardening friends.

This is a gardening tool that does an absolutely amazing job weeding and digging. It out performs the cheaper versions you may find. Definitely but this! You won’t regret spending a few extra dollars. The quality is worth it!

The hori hori knife has been my favorite garden tool for years. I have been very pleased with this new Hori hori knife. The wooden handle fits my hand comfortably. The knife has a full tang into the handle. The serrated edge is very sharp, so be careful! I liked the weight of the knife and the convenience of the rope cutter on the side of the blade. The knife blade has a slight curve to it which makes it handy for digging holes for seedlings or burying flower bulbs. The pronged end of the knife makes a great hand weeder. This knife comes with a heavy duty carry case that can slide onto a belt.

I have small hands, maybe I should have ordered a smaller one. I have used it to open bags of soil, cut rope, divide plants. I love it other than that I keep getting cut. Lol

I have an old garden knife that I bought atWalmart. This garden knife is really solid and I like the wooden portion of the knife. I am looking forward in using this. I also bought a similar style for my brother
