Does what it's supposed to happy with my purchase...

I bought these so that I can handle cloths for dogs in a training class to find. This means that only the scent from one person should be on it and it enables me to place the cloth amongst others without getting my scent on them for the dog to find. They work really well.

Not 35cm size as expected

I've always been a keen cook, but for some reason I've never collected a full set of kitchen tools, like potato ricers, holey spoons etc... and tongs, like these. They're pretty handy though, and I've shown them picking up salad, and also a medium sized, quite heavy avocado. I'm showing the avo because this will demonstrate that although they don't look substantial - and actually they feel quite light - they seem fairly strong. There are all kinds of kitchen tasks they could help with and I intend to put them to good use. I might even graduate to a few more kitchen items I've never bothered with before, to keep them company.Looks wise, they're smart enough, with stainless steel handles, tough moulded plastic scoops, and a useful thingy at the top of the handle that locks them closed when not in use. They're relatively easy to clean - I don't have a dishwasher, so will be doing that by hand - although the steel handles are not solid (see pic 3) and there is room for dust and food, etc, to potentially collect inside them, so maybe not so much fun to clean if that happens. I don't know why I expected them to be heavier-duty, but as they are, and for the reasonable enough price, I will happily use them.

These are slightly smaller than I expected but they still do a great job in the kitchen. Fit perfectly in the drawer and are easy to use when serving hot or cold food.

I have a few tongs but none with a silicon head to use. I’ve been looking for a pair to use with a couple of non stick pans and these fit the bill exactly.They open by pulling the hanging bit at the top and they’re lightweight and easy to use. The silicon seems decent quality, they’re dishwasher safe and after use, they can be folded closed to take up minimal storage in the draw or hanging. Inexpensive and I can’t fault them.

The media could not be loaded. Arrived in the box as they are, no extra packaging. Basic instructions only, looks like top shelf of the dishwasher only. Check the video to see where to open the spring up otherwise you won’t be able to pick anything up with these. Once I had opened them up a a little they do the job, not very easy to hold if you have hand problems. They have survived the dishwasher, top shelf, but I’m not sure I would put them in it again as they don’t look like they will survive well long term. Easy to wash by hand anyway. Fits in my cutlery drawer ok. Teenager managed to used them too. Overall ok for what they are. Haven’t used the hanging up end as don’t have anything to hang them on but that might appeal to some people.

This range of kitchen utensils from Fackelmann offers pretty decent quality for very little money. The tongs, which are currently £3.99 here on Amazon, are no exception.The handle section is stainless steel, leading to a black plastic tong end. The riveted join section between the two doesn't look enormously strong, but it does the job. Handily the tongs will lock closed via a clasp for storing in a smaller space, which is great. I think these tongs are better suited to salads and cold plates, rather than a cooking utensil. But they are very handy in the kitchen and function perfectly well for the price.
