Lange Critical Care 1st Edition

It is well updated and most clinically relevant. Nice illustrations. One thing the authors need to change is the topic of therapeutic hypothermia, noting they put 2 chapters to address it, while only one will do. Even if they wanted it to be on 2 chapters, I don't see the wisdom of separating them apart as it's in the text. Otherwise, a great uptodate review book, lacking some details.

This book is exactly what you need the book for

I've always enjoyed the Lange texts as sources of concise review or to get a brief overview of an unfamiliar topic or skillset in another specialty. This text fits that description and in general fills that bill. I've removed a couple stars for the number of editing errors that seem to be inappropriately frequent in this version of this particular text. Mind you, it is little stuff, but not super picky - somewhat frequent issues with tenses, or missing words, or nonsense word substitutions such as "of" for "or" and vice-versa. The value of the work of the respective chapters' authors is diminished by the volume of these fixable items.

This text was required for a graduate level nursing course so it's not like I chose it. I'm sure the information it contains is mostly accurate but the text is full of typographical and gramatical errors which slows down the reading and makes you question how carefully the book was researched or written. It definitely needs to have a professional medical editor review and correction.

Yes, the book is fantastic. Covers every important aspect of critical care and ICU care that you need to know as an advanced provider. The print is readable and user-friendly. The book organization is decent although it may require minor tweaks. The paper quality is nice, medium gloss without being too reflective of light rays.Tge only negative attributed to this book is the fact that it's a softcover book. It is a very large book and therefore cumbersome lift, hold, and maintain in this softcover format. A book this size should be a hardcover, never a softcover. So I have deducted one review star for this deficiency. Other than that, I highly recommend this book.
