Love mine, not sure the easiest way to chean ? Don't want to run through dishwasher just give quick rinse. Can see stain from herbs

If your gonna work on some spices its okay but if you wan't to do traditional puertorican plates like mofongo, don't buy it. This mortar or "pilon" is really small and you could only make a baby mofongo out of it.

My first mortar & pestle ever and I am 66 years old. The size is perfect for me and so is the weight. I have seen stone ones but they always seemed to be too heavy. For me, this is just what I need. Effectively crushes my spices and peppers.

What an absolute joke! Its tiny! You'll be lucky if you can fit 3 garlic cloves and the handle is weak and cheap. Smh extremely disappointing. It went right in the trash smh

Bought one llike this in 1973 at Famous Barr Company in St Louis. I have used it all this time and never had an issue. Wanted one to keep at a friends house where I do a lot of cooking and grow my own herbs. Great piece even though the 'pestle' is a bit longer than my first one.

Was in Arizona when I ordered this trying to make a traditional Spanish dish but couldn't find a mortar and pestle so ordered one from Amazon got it within 2 days w/ Amazon prime dinner was a sucess ! One important note good idea to cure it w/ some olive oil before using.

Well shaped and the pestle is well finished and smooth. But; the inside of the mortars jus riff unfinished wood. I will keep this and finish the inside myself as it came from the warehouse at a good price. One should be aware of this depending on use and skill to fin i as well as price.
