Enthralling from start to finish, just excellent
If you're into details and seeing that, whatever you're interested in (in this case, England Rugby) that no stone is left unturned, then this is the book for you. The fine points and specifics, from all the contributors give a fascinating insight into just what it takes to win the pinnacle of the sport. Lots of bumps, ups and downs on the way and, as we know, it wasn't plain sailing. The stories and anecdotes are funny, sad, breath taking and it takes you back to that tournament 20 years ago that will forever be in the hearts of all who follow English rugby. It broke me out in a sweat a few times. Just brilliant.

When England led the world
A fascinating read. When Clive Woodward took over in 1997, rugby had only been Open for a couple of years. In the revolution that followed Woodward introduced a level of professionalism to the England camp that translated into dominance on the pitch and left the rest of the world behind. One Team sets out the Management's extraordinary attention to detail and focus, from fitness to coaching, from the medical team to England's media image. In some ways it was the precursor to Dave Brailsford's Marginal Gains approach to British Cycling - fundamentally, Woodward and his team took a more rigorous, analytical approach to maximising performance in international rugby than had ever been taken before. As England embark on another World Cup campaign, here's a book to lift your spirits: when England were the best team in the world.
