Motion sensor works perfectly!
Works perfectly. Comes on when dusk hits and off dawn. Not very bright but the motion sensor activates the light bulb which creates enough light to light the doorway.

Worked through a glass globe
Works great and easy to set up. I did have to use a bulb socket extender because of my light socket was recessed. I purchased a set of two and both work well. The units sense movement through the glass, which many others cannot do. Nice option instead of adding a motion. Sensor to the light.

Brutally bad, 3 min on setting lasts 10 seconds, does not respond to motion, nightlight ? AVOID
Do not give these folks your money. These are completely useless. They have some dip switches to set between 5 seconds and 3 minutes. 5 seconds ? huh ? what use case is this ? doesn't matter cause they always go off in 10 seconds no matter if you have set them to 3 minutes. They willl notice walking near them if the setting is at 27 feet (max) but will not notice general motion at all. You can stand in one plac and wave your arms for an hour and it won't come on. Walk towards it and it will come on...for 10 seconds and then go off. Did I mention it has a night light ? which in "Smart" setting stays on all the time ? why ? it is kind of cute but useless cause the light doesn't do the basic use case you bought it for.The directions are bad. Small, hard to read with old eyes. Well to be accurate, the important section for directions to configure the switch are small. The other 1.5 pages of marketing bs are large. This product is extra bad even for the usual amazon cheap junk. AVOID. Don't waste a moment on this product. It doesn't come close to working. Note there are two in the box. Tested both and they both work incorrectly. JUNK.

The suggested default settings did not work for me.
Please don't get me wrong; I acquired one; when the default settings did not work, I did ask to exchange it, nevertheless the replacement from Amazon did the same thing so I test one by one manual settings until I found one that worked for me. Even when manufacture said the case where the light will not affect the motion sensor it seems do. Now I have two of them working. It may take a bit of (Frustrating) time to find the correct setting wonder if Amazon consider providing more Info or a bit more time.

Works on my “swirl” pattern frosted outside lamp!!
I was skeptical, but it worked.Picture had to be taken in daylight in order to see this type of frosting I speak about. My lamp is NOT SOLID frosted, but has slightly clearer swirl marks; however, I think it would still work with solid frosted types. It does take up room in the lamp; however I improvised & purchased smaller 2” high floodlights from Amazon to save space. “Anyray A1876Y (3-Bulbs) HR16 120V 35W E27/ E26 MR-16 35 Watt JDR C Halogen Bulb Lamp FMW Flood with Lens.”Prior to this, I had attach a separate sensor on the wall & squeeze the lead wire to the bulb piece between the glass and screw-in lid (because fixture was closed at the bottom). The outside piece that was attached to the wall never weathered well, and I had to get on a ladder to change the battery (and sometimes the entire sensor contraption). With this sensor, everything is shielded from the weather, no battery is involved, and no ugly wires.I don’t often leave reviews, but this sensor deserved a good review, and I hope it helps others that have frosted fixtures that are closed at the bottom.

Great Feature Promises, But, Falters on Delivery for me.
The good first. The unit seems well made, has a decent feel in the hands, and looks reasonably attractive, fitting in to my garage ceiling setting quite naturally. Having screwed it in and out an interminable number of times during my testing to make adjustments, there was never any feeling of fragility, looseness, or of wearing out. Lastly, when ambient lighting from the nearby window or open garage door reaches a sufficient level, the unit faithfully switches from Moonlight to off.I really liked the idea of this Motion Sensor Activated Light Socket. What I got is far from ideal, as there appears to be some circuit crossover/crosstalk, deep within its logic center, perhaps coming from poor execution of design or manufacture. Let me explain with the outcome of hours of testing with a 13W Bright White LED Bulb as ambient lighting for a walkway/ramp in our garage. Please Note: If my experience is related to a quality/inconsistency issue, YMMV!!!The unit's has 5 configuration switches near its base (S1S2-S3S4-S5), and are presently set as: 00-01-1. This should provide: 5 seconds of "on" time, up to 19 foot detection range, using SMART mode. It actually provides: ~15 minutes of "on" time (once as low as ~5 minutes), at least 14 feet of range, and in SMART mode. I want 60 seconds of "on" time (AKA 01-01-1) with each detection, but I can't get it with S4 at "1". Any time the S4 switch is in the "1" position, the clock circuit loses it mind, and opens the extended and sometimes random 'box of time chocolates'. With S4 in the "0" position, "00"(S1 & S2) consistently gives ~5 seconds as specified on the instruction sheet, but flip S4 to "1", and all hope of following the spec is lost. Unfortunately, S3S4 as "10" does not provide the required range needed for comfort/safety. Actually, this range setting fell short, as standing at 10-12 feet at one location waving my hands, had no effect, while with the same setting in another location at 14 feet, I was easily detected. Thus, the coverage seems to be lobed versus a circular pattern. On the other hand, S5 always gives either the "AUTO/0" mode, or the "SMART/1" mode, without regards to S4's position. I started out planning to only use "AUTO", but I've come to like the "SMART" mode, because when it is very dark you have a little light to let the person (just out of range) know a light is there.I was going to return the unit the next day after completing this testing, but I'm keeping it. The 19 foot range setting covers the two doors I need it too (actually seeing through the glass door when its solid inner door is opened), and the looonnggish "on" time per detection is better than the target light being on 14 hours straight each day. So, it "is", better than nothing! It's hard to imagine buying another unless I can use the shorter ranges, but it is about half the price of adding control of this light to my home automation system (with which I'd have accurate "on" times and consistency 24/7/365. HhMmm!)

Works Great!
This solved a problem with dark stairs into the basement. Now, every time I go up or down the stairs, the light comes on automatically. It works in the day as well night because not much outside light reaches the stairs. I’m very happy with this product!
