Fast and easily formatted good design and value for money and also didn’t come damaged

My freesat box hard drive failed. I thought I'd have to get a new box at £300. Saw a YouTube video describing how to change the hard drive so I ordered this, changed the hard drive (very easy) and now working perfectly.

Cheap, speedy and works great all the about 5 I got from Amazon. Well worth it.

Bought this to replace the hard drive (broken) in my Freesat Settop box - most difficult part was getting the box apart as one screw was hidden under a sticker!. Really easy once box was apart and so far so good as it is working!

Bought this hard drive as a replacement for the one which failed in my Freesat recorder. Identical to the original, and an easy straight swap. Just a small torx bit for the case screws and a flat blade to lever the cover apart, then a multipin plug to swap over. Have tried the new one and works perfectly. Beats buying a new Freesat box for £200.

My worst purchase on amazon.Those are used hard drives, my one came with 39,000 hours of use and bad sectors.- Extremely High UsagePower On Hours: 39,036 hours (~4.45 years of continuous operation).Power On Count: 44,422 cycles (suggests frequent power cycles).A drive this old is at a much higher risk of failure.- High Load/Unload Cycle CountLoad/Unload Cycle Count: 0x114E (probably around 4,398 times).Frequent head parking/unparking can wear out mechanical parts over time.- Spin Retry Count: 188 (Above Normal)This means the disk has had trouble spinning up multiple times.Normal value should be 0 or very low.This may indicate aging motor bearings or power instability.- UltraDMA CRC Error Count: 200There have been some CRC errors, which could indicate cable issues or power fluctuations.

This hard drive has been performing exactly as expected. It was a good price when I bought it, making it a great value for the money.In terms of performance, the hard drive works flawlessly. It handles all my storage needs efficiently, and I haven’t encountered any issues. It’s reliable and does its job well, which is all you can ask for from a hard drive.I have no complaints about this product. If I ever need another hard drive in the future, I would probably get the same one again. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking for dependable storage at a reasonable price.

Drive was dated 2019, not too old if it has been refurbished. These drives need to be set up first if using them for data backups etc. Search "compmgmt.msc" and click "Disk Management" Right click the drive that has 465Gb? (500Gb) Free space and "Format" First set the size (Just press next if not partitioning/splitting the drive) then Format in NTFS (Will allow large files to be copied over) Now the drive will appear in "This PC". To remove the drive just pull the USB cable out unless you want to change it to "safely remove" in This PC. Orico is one brand I'd recommend for Hard Drive Enclosures.
