Excellent
I'm not sure what more I can add to the copious rave reviews about this product. The CrushGrind Pepper Mill does precisely what it says on the tin, and does it exceptionally well. I have wasted more money on inferior pepper grinders that fail after weeks or months and am quite happy to spend a bit more and get a quality product. This oozes quality and is a very nice mate to the salt grinder. Both look very sharp on the kitchen counter. It's nice and hefty in the hand, smooth to operate and a cinch to fill. Very, very highly recommend.

Best pepper mill I've ever had.
It's difficult to find salt and pepper mills that actually work: this and the matching salt mill do work. They are expensive, but they are far better than any of the many other mills I've tried. Sometimes listed on Amazon around £22, usually more like £30.They look nice. They fill easily from the top. The ceramic grinder is heavy duty, efficient and adjustable. The CrushGrind also copes well with larger Kampot peppercorns that seem to defeat some grinders. Highly recommended.

Best mill on the market
I'm a big fan of the Apollo, but they don't last forever. The guarantee is a bit sneaky because it applies only to the actual ceramic grinding section itself, not to the parts attached to that, and this is where there can be problems. After about 3 years of daily use, a plastic ring on the bottom fell out and dumped a whole load of pepper onto the food. However, I manged to fix this. The problem is caused by pepper building up behind the ring. If you carefully unscrew the grey knob - holding the mill upside down so that a spring inside doesn't fall out, you can service the mill, cleaning out the build-up of pepper, screwing back the grey knob, and snapping the ring back into place. Now after 4 years of daily use I've had a more serious problem with the acrylic top section failing to engage with the grinder mechanism. Have managed to mend this too, but wonder how long before it happens again. Even so, I still find this the best pepper mill on the market. Perhaps I should also consider becoming a professional peppermill engineer!

Just the best there is!
If it was possible to give this pepper mill ten stars I would do. After years of enduring various 'traditional' pepper mills which 'grind' the peppercorns into very unsatifactory tiny lumps this unit is a complete revelation. It doesn't grind the peppercorns ..... it crushes them between two ceramic discs. The result is a beautifully aromatic coarse powder of fresh pepper like you've never experienced before. The unit is also extremely easy to refill .... you simply take off the cap at the top and add more peppercorns .... there is no central bar to get in the way.The fact that the CrushGrind is guaranteed for life is the icing on the cake. This item does EXACTLY what its says on the tin. It may seem expensive but in my view the price is entirely justified.Just buy one. It will be the best thing you ever buy for your kitchen.

Great but not for "Pink Peppers"
I bought this because my Cole & Mason mill wouldn't grind pink peppers.Nor will this one; in fact the ceramic mills clog up even faster than the stainless steel ones because the oily paste from pink peppers sticks harder to the ceramic. I know because I dismantled both of them to clean them.I now know that pink peppers are not really peppercorns at all but oily berries. The flavour is comparatively weak and they're better not ground at all but added whole when cooking. This grinder looks good and works well. "Crushgrind" isn't a new way of doing it (the mechanism is the same) and the claim ought to be that it grinds anything that is grindable. That said, it's a really nice item and precisely because the ceramic grips the peppercorns better than steel does, the output of ground pepper is much higher.

Parts don't old together.
Very beatiful and well finished, but the the transparent upper part keeps coming off. The grind mechanism doesn't stay secured in its place, no matter how I place it together.I should have returned it, but was too lazy and passed the return window. It would be a great product though... Will try to glue it together or something.

Looks good, works great but for the amount it costs the packaging (plastic bag) kinda gives you a first impression of something you've bought off a market stall
