Panic Room [DVD] [2002]

They say better late than never, so while it might have taken 23 years, one of the finest thrillers of the early 2000’s finally gets a proper HD release.Jodie Foster is a powerhouse with a debut Kristen Stewart as her daughter. When their new townhouse is broken into on their first night in it, Meg Altman ends up with her daughter in the ‘panic room’ designed to keep them safe in a home invasion. Thus beginning a cat and mouse battle for survival when it becomes clear the intruders won’t be leaving easily…The film itself is a blast, building its characters and with some thrilling camerawork and visuals from director David Fincher, all of which look superb in this presentation. Cool, stylish and very, very slick but backed up with a solid plot and performances.Disc 1 is the 4K disc, Disc 2 the Blu-ray (with some extras) and Disc 3 the bonus material.Even better, the steelbook is stacked with all the extras which were on the old three-disc special edition DVD. So, there’s three commentaries, dozens of featurettes on the production, a making of, which provide a comprehensive look at the film.

Very enjoyable

Good plot, but ending was disappointing. Jodie Foster, however, didn't.

Brilliant, suspense, not an ending you could predict. Have seen before but wanted to see again.

This review is more about the sound and not so much about the film, the film is brilliant but I hate the sound, you can't hear speaking or voices, you can hear all the environment noises like heavy rainfall, the wind gunshots, doors slamming peoples footsteps and running up and down the stairs but no matter what volume you have you TV set to you won't be able to hear speaking and talking, the editing after the film was shot means the volume for voices has been set way to low, if you shop around sometimes you can find a dvd that has been made by a different publisher but avoid the Sony Home Entertainment one.

Again super cool Jodie foster plays petite mum coping with teenage daughter in this taut thriller with the whole movie set within a house,worried about security she moves into a home with a you guessed it a panic room,and for the sake of a good movie she ends up having to use it,like her other movie Flight plan, Jodies chracter has to up her game and toughen up to survive three burgulars who try to overcome her.This is a tense tight movie that amazes in Jodies chracter tight escapes and stamina at staying one step ahead of the three invaders found the film quite comic in places,almost a grown up take on the home alone theme,with the three invaders being thwarted at every turn, but there are also some violent scenes,which reminds you of the reality of the situation,tense tight script ,great acting with Jodie Foster,Forest Whittaker,Jared leto,Dwight Yokam plus great camera angles ensure a great thriller.

i like this film alot i love the intense scenes and the eating expect from when junior ( jared leto ) gets shot sorry i spoiled it well a part from that its a good film and you have to buy it it also is kristen stewents first film fast delivery and no damage
