Wow. This thing really scared me when I first turned it on. it has good volume control, but I tend to omit reading directions before I try things. Sudden loud ferocious barking dogs along with gunshots! There are many other sound selections, but that’s what I first heard. I use it in a hay barn and in another three sided farm Building that houses farm equipment and my car. Before I ordered this, I had trouble with my stock dog pursuing a squirrel hiding under the car hood. This was in the middle of the night so I didn’t hear theCommotion. The dogs did a lot of damage to the car. The squirrel would have done damage also once the dogs got bored with trying to get under the hood.So I put this alarm up and the dogs, squirrels, and raccoons have stayed away. It’s been a few months.I have used several motion detectors that flash lights and beep, but nothing like this.

Update: Although I'm still disappointed it stopped working, the company reached out to me and offered a complete refund. Believe it or not, I will probably order another one soon. It worked really well keeping coyotes away from my house! I am hoping I just got a "lemon" the first time. But I have to say excellent customer service!Worked ok for about 6 months...then, the battery is just dead! Will not charge with charger nor with the sun! Quite disappointed!

This little detector sure lets you know if something is creeping around. My chickens are safe from nighttime predators.

The product works well. However the remote control didn't work.

Years ago I made something similar to this from a Radio Shack voice module, PIR sensor, wall wart, and a project box. It was to keep my mom's dog from getting into trouble in the kitchen. I joked that it was a good idea for a product, but coworkers said their dogs would just ignore it. All of the parts probably cost more than this product and it took some time to assemble. Plus we didn't think of other applications.Now years later after that DIY box was given away, I wanted something similar to scare away an animal that's been causing some trouble in our backyard at 2 am. What does this product have that mine didn't? It's weatherproof, has a rechargeable battery with solar cells to charge it, has a flashing light, has the ability to have it disabled during the day (plus more options), and a remote control. Plus you can order one and likely get it within a day or two. Thanks so much for making this product, and saving me a lot of time building something inferior.The gun shot noise is a bit over the top! I don't want someone getting freaked out and calling the police at 2 AM LOL

Not Weather Proof, mine leaked with first heavy rain and stopped working but when it dried out it now works fine other than that it Works Great however the Remote range is short only about 20 feet in the dark and less than 10 feet in full sun. I have skunks that go under my house and spray and stink my house up so I put one of these mounted about 6' off of the ground on dog Bark Gun Shot and it scares them off.The record feature records 20 seconds of your voice or in my case a skunk distress call that I fond on youtube and that scares them even worse.Pro: Solar or USB Charging, Realistic Gun Shots with Vicious Dogs Barking at the same time, Record up to 20 seconds of your voice or something from youtube like a Rat or Skunk Distress Call.Con: Not Weatherproof, Remote has Short Range and there is an OFF Button on the Remote but No ON Button and if you turn it OFF with Remote you must Turn it ON on the Solar Alarm Unit itself, kinda dumb if you ask me.I like it but it could use some improvement like an ON Button on the Remote and better Waterproofing. I am getting another one for our Carport to ward off Intruders, that Gun Dog Bark scared the heck out of me when I had forgot it was out there.UPDATE: Almost 30 days after purchase the Unit has Died after last rain and this time when dried out it still will not turn on and it will not charge by solar or usb. Bummer I liked it.

It worked - we didn't see deer on the trail camera anymore. Then it stopped working after 2 months. Hopefully, the deer will remember that something was barking there and will not come back very soonUpdate: I got a refund from the company for the non-working alarm. Now I'm going to use the refund for the new one as this device is really effective. We had a lot of deer walking through our remote garden and nothing stopped them from eating everything we planted. But since we installed this alarm, our trail camera didn't record any deer! And even more: for the last two years, groundhogs have dug holes and tunnels between squash plants, probably looking for the shaded place. But no groundhog digging since the alarm was installed! Our trail camera still catches turkey. It looks like the turkey doesn't care for the sound. But we don't mind it as it doesn't cause any damage. I'm hoping the new alarm will be the same effective and will last longer.
