7am PII Trac II Razors (Compatible with TracII blades)

Folks, you only need two blades.
For many, many years, I happily used my Gillette Trac 2 razor, knowing that it was out-of-style. First we were sold three blades, then four blades, then five. Are we up to six yet?Guys, I'm not the hairiest of men but hair is hair. A single blade cuts it. Two blades may be advisable, the second one getting what the first one missed or trimming the stubs closer (I still see the image from the TV commercial in my mind). If you have a really thick beard, use two swipes, maybe three. If you are using the Trac 2, it's the equivalent of six blades! But that's the problem. People are lazy, so they don't want to be bothered with two or three swipes. They think one swipe with six blades will get the job done with a minimum of effort. Or, they believe they deserve the best of everything so when offered something "deluxe," they feel they are entitled to it for that reason alone. And they pay more for the privilege.Local drugstores never stopped selling cartridges for the Trac 2 but the razors themselves? Forget about it. So, when my old Trac 2 finally gave up (it was only plastic, you know, but even so, it lasted a long time), I thought I had had it. Here we go, six blades to Hell, and I had a couple of cartridge packs that would go to waste. But no! I had the inspiration to search Amazon for the Trac 2 (or a compatible model), and here we are! I just had my first shave with this one and it is fine. Smooth as a baby. This model seems to be even better quality than the old one that it is replacing. I am very happy.Long live Gillette Trac 2 and two-blade shaving!

Oh.....MY......Gosh......
Thank you so much for this razor. I don't care what is written on it, the handle is just like the old ones and the one blade that came with it works great. I haven't had so nice a shave in years since they stopped making these. I noticed the other day though at the big box store they have refills, and these are the slide on types, (the best). If you are a man-scaper you will never want to be without it again and for your face if you aren't a smooth faced kid you will appreciate how this razon works around the creases. Not like the 5 blade stuff that is fine for women's legs but not a many face. Get it, try it, you'll love it.

Just gave me a great shave.
I gave up cartridge razors over 5 years ago because of the price. Said goodbye to my Mach 3 and welcomed a DE razor. After a while, my sensitive skin couldn't take it anymore. I was always getting cut up. Now matter how much I prepped my face, I was going to bleed. I gave this Trac II (this is the Indian version called PII) a try... and at 5 dollars and change, you can't beat it. The blade it comes with does not have a lubricating strip but it gave me a great smooth shave with just one pass. And zero cuts. I plan on buying Personna's version of the Trac II blades and I'll be shaving with this more. It's really a great razor. Very sharp looking razor too!!

A razor handle not for the stupid
I bought 100 non-oem cartridges for this handle for cheap...maybe 20 cents per cart...so even if I only get a week of shaving out of one cart my monthly cost on shaving minus the handle is about $1 (or $12 per year). Actually the carts are lasting almost 2 weeks so make that $6 per year. You are clinically retarded if you are paying close to $20 for what, 7 carts at the grocery store...clinically mentally retarded...and you deserve to lose your money.I can't give it 5 stars since it's made cheaply out of plastic. But back to math...even if I break a handle every month I'm still doing better than the dolts that buy the $20 carts. But I've had it for months and it hasn't broken yet.

i'm pleased with this thing
i had the other model, the one with a push button. avoid that one, the button fouls after a few uses and the blade will pop off in the middle of a shave. that's why i was happy to find this one, which is also cheap, uses cheap blades and slides onto the blade.the blade that it comes with has no white strip, but the blades are sharp. and if you reverse strop it, using your arm (its a weird method that works, human leather works just like normal leather). the blade keeps cutting. not sure how long i can do that for, but its around a month now.

Seems OK
I read reviews before I purchased and decided to reinforce the handle-head connection before using it. I used Gluesmith which I think is a great product. Anyway after several uses no problems. It doesn't seem to be particularly high quality but seems as though it will do the job. I had some razors from 7-8 years ago. I wanted to use them this summer since I was cutting my beard off. They fit fine. So, take your best shot.

A Truly Superb Shave
I love the feel of a Trac II, which this is, only with a modified name. The cartridge that came with it is giving me the best shave I've had in years. Smooth and close, without chewing up my skin when I do the final stroke against the grain to maximize closeness. And this is with a brand new blade, which normal tear up my face.I wish I had multiple 10-packs of blades identical to this.UPDATE: I've been using this for about a year now, and it is just as sturdy as my Trac II handle that I got back in '76 or so that I still use.

This is no kidding how we shaved back in the 1970s
I recently found myself nostalgically craving for a razor like the one I used back in the 1970s and right on through the 80s. This well made and reasonably priced razor is nearly an exact clone of the one I "speed shaved" with in basic training in 1976. Back then it really was "The best a man can get", and by golly it still gets the job done like it always did. Get one while you can, the Gillette Trac II razor is both historic and iconic. Introduced back around 1972, it was the world's first widely available multi-blade razor.
