An excellent adhesive.
This is a superb resin wood adhesive that has been around for a very long time. It mixes easily with cold water to the consistency you require, whether as a thin layer or for filling joints that are not that good a fit.On good, clean timber, it gives great strength to the joint.Suggestions: Use a throw away container for mixing the adhesive, and do not use metal containers or aluminium foil containers. Use plastic or glass. A while back I used a aluminium foil container and the adhesive just did not work. The powder was in perfectly dry condition and it worked with a plastic or glass container. I could only assume the aluminium had a destructive effect on the behaviour of the resin. An excellent product, thoroughly recommended.

Swear by this
I use this so often, the value is great and it’s easy to mix up to the right consistency for the job at hand. For instance I used it to make a custom newel post for my banister, the height was wrong on my old one so glued it to a piece of timber I had lying around with wooden dowels and it is sturdy as anything. I mixed a batch up that was slightly runnier than normal too and used that to seal an old wooden staircase as a few of the stairs were cracking and now they are solid again!I’ve used this product a lot and highly recommend it.

Does what it needs to do
It's a long time since I mixed glue and I guess that is the disadvantage of this stuff. But it makes a good bond and does not stain the wood.

I Wouldn't use any other glue
This is such a great product, the wood will tear apart rather the glue failing. Easy to clean any spillages or wipe away any excess glue and with just a wet cloth.

Can't beat the original.
You can't beat this stufff for wood lamination. As long as you mix properly it goes off rock hard. Be careful to where gloves though. The only reason you wouldn't use this for everything is because you have to mix it every time. You can't store it once its mixed unlike PVA. But you have the advantage of a much longer initial cure time (about an hour depending on the mix) than PVA, which is vital for large 4m+ laminations like I'm doing. It has the amazing ability to only stick to wood, so you can leave any excess in a plastic bucket and it will go rock hard by the next day and you can just tap it straight into the bin. Also be aware that the excess that oozes out of the joing can be razor sharp again unlike PVA.

Stuck on you
I have used this glue over a number of years, and needed more. It's a great product and doesn't yellow but any excess should be wiped away in any event. I use a silicone bun tray to mix in small quantities of the glue, and when I've finished I just leave the glue to set and once hardened, it pops out very easily and can be discarded leaving a nice clean bun tray for the next round of glue!

At last, back to the original recipe!!!
I don’t know what had happened to this stuff but it went from best wood adhesive on the market to downright awful a couple of years ago, someone must have messed around with the formula (a cost saving exercise gone wrong perhaps?). I had several jobs where the glue had failed so I phoned up the manufacturers for advice and got a rather sheepish response. Other people online also said they had similar experiences. Thankfully they must have been made aware of this and it’s now back to the way it was, a glue with a creamy white consistency rather than the grainy crap it had become. So all that aside, this is probably the only wood glue that I have complete confidence in when it comes to a truly waterproof, weatherproof bond. And many old school joiners will probably say the same.
