The Odyssey (Usborne Young Reading): 1 (Young Reading Series 3)

Bought it to support our 7 year old daughter in her ambition to become her class' Greek mythology expert. She could very well read it on her own and quite liked it, seems to love the pictures.

My five-year old grandson loved this, both the text and pictures. He found it very exciting and thought-provoking. The entire series is wonderful, and a brilliant introduction for small children to the world of Greek myth.

Have a few "childs" versions of Ilyad and Odyssey. I wanted to find a version that gave the broadbrush story of Ulysses' trip home and this the best I've found - if my 7 year old asking me to read it again is anything to go by.

An excellent rendition of the essential elements of the Odyssey in language a child can understand. Plenty of specific details to keep it true to the original.

Nice and simple kids version with good pictures.Once son gets older I will get him onto original.

Fantastic book to do with your class if you're doing Ancient Greece. Kids loved it. Colourful pictures as well.

This book is the same as Ulysses. I prefer Ulysses for little children because the drawings are made by Stephen Cartwright (Ulysses is the roman name while in Greek the name is Odysseus). The odyssey is still a very good Usborne book just more suited for older kids (in my opinion).
