This is a great saffron for my rice. It smells good and it colors well. You get a good amount for the price.

The taste is inferior, in my opinion. I have had a batch of saffron for two decades that I was almost out of. I tasted the new stuff and my reaction was, "huh - doesn't taste very good". So I went and tasted my 20+ year old saffron and it still tasted and smelled really good. Since I already opened it, I'm not planning to return it, but my gut feeling is that you get what you pay for (more often than not). This was not very expensive, so I guess that's why it doesn't taste great.

I bought this to make a paella for work, and everyone loved the flavor and vibrant color of the rice. It was a hit! I’ll definitely be purchasing it again.
