Excellent protection against the sound of gunfire.
The M-Tac Passive Ear Protection for Shooting was tested today with both 9mm pistol and 7.62 x 54 rifle ammunition.I am impressed with the hearing protector's ability to allow conversation to be heard and also reduce gunfire sounds to a very safe and reasonable level. There is no need to remove them for conversation. The Earmuffs were easy to fit to my head and comfortable. I wore them for 3 hours to see if issues would develop with comfort. I do not mind wearing the earmuffs for long periods of time. All is well.

Terrible- Do not buy. Poorly designed
I bought several other air protections at the same time. This by far is the most poorly design cheaply made product I’ve ever used. The ability to adjust to your ears and get it to stop sound took about 30 minutes and even then it was terrible. Chinese made do not buy this. They look cool, but there’s no way this thing actually works.

Not just for the shooting range!
I love these noise cancelling ear muffs as they have allowed me to sit in peace and quiet for the last 2 days. As someone with a big head they fit really well and are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I wanted to try this out when meditating as I often struggle with keeping myself focused with the slightest bit of noise. To my surprise a whole hour went by without noticing. They cancel out noise quite well. If you live in a busy household and are looking for some quiet time try these out. You won’t be disappointed.

Not for firearms
“M-Tac Passive Ear Protection for Shooting Tac Force - Tactical Military Hearing Protection Noise Reduction Earmuffs“These earmuffs fit me pretty well, even though I have a larger head.As far as noise reduction though, they don’t really reduce sound levels very much. When I put them on in a room that had a television at a normal volume, I could still hear the television perfectly well, with only a slight reduction in volume level. The thin shape of the ear cups makes these earmuffs fit very well against the stock of a rifle. I tested out the fit by firing several rounds from a pellet gun, and it worked well. The noise reduction was also just fine while firing the pellet gun. I definitely would not use these ear muffs while firing live ammunition from a handgun or rifle though.

good basic
Good basic hearing protection. There are much better available. But, for the price, this is an excellent casual use headset.

Very good for shooting range!
I’ve been going to the shooting range more and more frequently and wanted to have my own ear protection instead of renting. These fulfill my needs as they are comfortable to adjust and wear for an hour or more at a time, the noise cancellation is good and they have a nice low profile to them too. You can easily wear earplugs in addition for added protection if necessary too but that may be a personal preference for most. I am happy with this purchase.

So-So Hearing Protection
The M-Tac Passive Ear Protection appears to be the same as many high end hearing protection headsets, but it is looks only. The low profile ear cups are nicely shaped and cushioned but the headband is overly tight and the pressure gave me a headache in just a few minutes. The sound rating of 21NRR seems generous to me since the ear cup is just a plastic shell with a single layer of foam inside and sounds are quieted but not by a great deal. Depending on the use, theses might be alright but I wouldn't want to bet my hearing on them.
