Excellent alternative to paper support.
Drafting film is very different to paper in that it is not...paper. It's more like tracing paper although more stable, sturdy and they claim `untearable'. It's also opaque translucent. The main benefit is that you don't need to transfer your sketch of your subject to the support, you can just slip it underneath and use your coloured pencils on top. Your sketch shows through the drafting film and eliminates those nasty outlines. What you immediately notice with working on drafting film is how smooth and how quickly it grabs the coloured pencil pigment. You don't need to work the pencil into the tooth at all. It positively glides on. If that wasn't enough, the pigment pops off the page without much effort at all.But for those that like their layers, drafting film only takes 3 or 4 layers (depending on how light you work) and you have to know what you are putting down before you start. There isn't much room for trial and error. So far I like it though and it allows you to work very quickly indeed.Because of the surface readily accepting the pencil it is very easy to keep the point on your pencil and those sharp points don't snap as soon as you touch it. Your point does wear down normally but the film allows you to keep that sharpener-fresh spike longer. It's translucency also offers intriguing possibilities for the background of drawings.

I found it perfect for coloured pencils.
As a colored pencil artist, I've experimented with various surfaces, but this one surpasses them all.The color applies smoothly, erases cleanly without residue, and looks impeccable with a plain backing sheet in a frame. The colors appear vibrant, allowing for multiple layers, more so than any other surface I've used. However, be cautious not to fold it, as the crease is permanent and could spoil your artwork. Its cost is the only downside, hence the four-star rating.Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helped.

Great drafting film and delivery good
I use this for coloured pencil drawings and it’s perfect. I have bought this several times from this company and it never fails to be delivered on time. Always well packaged and in great quality. I have noticed the price has some wheat increased since my last purchase a month or so ago. Still competitively priced at present.

Great for colour pencil artists
Great paper for colour pencil drawing. Lovely smooth surface.Comes in a pad of 15 sheets each with a tissue paper sheet on top to protect. If you've never tried colour pencil on drafting film this is the stuff to get!!After using this film for about 18 months I find that I get the best results with polychromos pencils, they are just the right amount of hardness and pigment and pablo pencils for the same reasons.I’ve also used luminance but can find it gets a little bit of grainy residue, I’m not a fan of lightfast on this surface as I think they are way too soft and I don’t get the superfine detail I get with polys/pablos.I’ve used zest it successfully on this surface, but as it doesn’t penetrate the film it’s got a much longer drying time and you need to be careful you use it sparingly as you could end up with a soupy grey/brown liquid sitting on the surface. Also be very very careful when you handle this paper that you don’t bend it as even the slightest crease is there to stay and can ruin the piece,I’ve lost several pieces of A3 this way.

Polydraw pad of 15 sheets
Really fast delivery thank you very much. Paper seems good quality, however one of the sheets is buckled in two parts, making it unusable. (See picture)

Good quality drafting film.
I love this Polydraw drafting film for my coloured pencil work. It allows me to erase a lot and be more precise. The surface has just the right texture to allow for this. It's amazing how much punishment it will take. You can even wipe the coloured pencil off with a magic sponge and start again. BRILLIANT!!

Excellent paper for technical pens
There are many things I like about this drafting film. Since it's not paper, it doesn't curl or buckle when subjected to a hint of moisture, unlike regular tracing paper. The surface takes colour surprisingly well, and also has a smoothness that makes it perfect for technical pens, which is what I intended to use on it first of all when I bought this.In short, it is exactly as described, and if it has any properties that you know you have been missing from your other papers, then this is the one to go for.As an artist, one should in any case try out every different paper one can get one's hands on, just for future reference if nothing else. There might be a day when a certain technique will require just that special paper you tried before, and you will know which one it is.

Polydraw film lovely to work on
Bought this film to work on with FC Polychromos colour pencils for the first time. It arrived quickly and was very well packaged to avoid it being creased. Great to draw on, nice feel and will definitely use it again.
