Very happy with this compressor pedal,the build quality it great & it looks fantastic.The led light is a great visual aid too that helps with the functionality.No atmospheric noise and sound quality is great.works exactly as described & I think it's great value for money.I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a great sounding compressor pedal at a reasonable price.A*

The best compressor I've ever had, including all three of the Boss CS series and a Digitech Main Squeeze. Tweak to find your desired sweet spot. It's silent in operation.The only downside is the on/off status light is very bright. Just stick a bit of paper over it to reduce the glare. I've also disabled the over the top edge lighting using the switch on the base.In conclusion, I leave it on all the time it's so good. Unbeatable at this price.

Stopped working after 11 months of home use.UPDATE - my wife managed to message Joyo and they have kindly arranged for a replacement. I've changed my review to 4 stars now. Only loses 1 star for their difficult website communication.This pedal is very good, particularly at this price point. The trouble is that it recently stopped working. I looked at my order details and it's just over 11 months since purchase. Amazon offer nothing but a link to the sellers website. Once there you add some information about your device and the issue but to send it off you have to 'copy' a code - to presumably prove that you are human. Well, I tried, my wife tried and my son tried but none of us could copy the codes because they all had at least one 'o' or was it 'O' or was it '0' ? It's almost Impossible to let them know that the pedal is faulty. Such a shame!

The Chopper-Z is a fantastic modern high gain pedal with a great set of features that allow it to be used in a range of ways. It might not sound particularly high gain at first if you're used to more traditional metal pedals, but it stays tight and focused where they might become vague, so it always hits hard. It's fantastic for stacking lower gain pedals into at lower gain settings, which helps to keep the noise gate working cleanly. The EQ range makes it work particularly well with extra low tunings and baritones as well. I've also run it as a pre-amp using the power amp output mode, which works great. The jury is out on the effectiveness of the cab sim section, which I find has a slightly nasal and harsh character, so I'd recommend a good IR instead.

Let's get the first thing out of the way. This isn't just a "metal" pedal, you can easily get great blues, hard rock, and metal sounds out of it. It's very flexible and definitely the best individual od/distortion/etc pedal I now own. It's not even close.I am an AxeFX 3 owner, and I was looking for something small, immediate, kind of tactile thing to take me away from the complexity and menu diving for a bit. Just to play with something simple and focused, get some inspiration that I can take back to Fractal land, and I wasn't disappointed.There isn't a bad sound in this thing, as I sit here and write this, I'm quite frankly blown away. The controls are simple, something worth mentioning is that the "fat boost" button is a kind of "saturator" when engaged adds awesome saturation to the sound. The "output mode" knob use is clear and offers a continuum of delicious sounds for their given uses. Everything else is pretty obvious.So far, I plug it into my fractal, add a bit of reverb and that's it, straight out of the monitors and it sounds awesome. Obviously this will get lots of usage.From the YouTube reviews I could see Joyo pedals were worth trying and the prices won't break the bank, so I decided to try a few - three so far. From what I can see (my experiences and various sound reviews) this one is probably their best pedal, and if I'm wrong I'll be glad to be.If you play guitar and are looking for any kind of drive/distortion pedal, buy this one! I can't imagine any guitar player that would be disappointed with it. Joyo should create different versions of this pedal style focused on various od/distortion flavours.Sometimes when adverts say something is for a particular application, other people can miss out on the experiences that it can bring to them. If you play heavy music you'll love this pedal, but if you play blues, indie, hard rock, or whatever you'll also love it. Buy it and have fun!

Build quality is positive, a really nice metal case and it feels sturdy. The light bar thing is a bit pointless though, I'm not sure what it's for (each side has status lights anyway).Tonally it's generally good sounding. The clipping options are very subtle and only do anything with the gain set high. The taper on the volume controls is a little weird though - both volume and gain need to be well above half to get unity gain.The downside for me was the same I've had with other Joyo R Series pedals - the footswtches aren't mechanical, they're clearly pressing some sort of contact switch insde the pedal but both sides emit a massive pop when engaged. Oddly, I have the "Hot Witch" fuzz which has almost silent switching so it may be a variable.There was also some sort of annoying static noise in the background when either side was engaged which faded after about a second - almost like a noise gate kicked in. Weird.I did ponder tolerating the faults as the unit was decent sounding, but in the end the niggles were too much to take and it was returned.
