Only Lasted 8 weeks
Worked well for 8 weeks then wouldn't turn on. Black screen display. Batteries located correctly, but still nothing. New batteries inserted to no avail. Now out of return window. How do I obtain a refund or replacement under the 15 year warranty? After going through Amazon's automated customer service chats until I'm blue in the face, emailing the manufacturer many times, I'm still being refused a repair or replacement under warranty. Amazon won't allow a return even though the scales are well inside the waranty period. The manufacturers are telling me to return it to Amazon. I've used Amazon for years, but that will be coming to an end. I can live without Prime.

Neat & effective.
Nice big display and a good variety of displays; grams, oz, ml etc. Easy to use. Compact and looks good in the kitchen.Update: I’ve had this for about 4 months now - it was supplied with tired batteries and wouldn’t switch on. I put new batteries in and it was ok for a while but now it won’t switch on at all. I’m not impressed. Down graded to zero stars. (Except there isn’t a ‘zero’ option)

Quality weighing scales - accurate, slimline and functional
Having the item for over a month, the weighing scales don't disappoint on Salter's reputation, irregardless of their non-UK manufacturing origin. Other items from the company are likely questionable, but this item reflect the history and legacy of a company associated with measurement. Accuracy is unquestionable, with a clear bright LCD display. The button on the front may be a little tricky for some users to press but is much simpler than the push button variety on another family member's weighing scales. Another family member's Salter scales have reliably lasted over 5 years. The metal finish, like other kitchen utensils can smear relatively easy with some cleaning products but overall is efficient and quick to clean following use. They are compact to leave out on the worktop or leave tucked away in a cupboard, when space is premium. Two lithium batteries were included and already installed ready for first use.

Never properly worked!
Bought these end of January - it's now end of April and I've had enough of the constant refusing to switch on, turning it's self when zero'd and just random roulette of will it or want it work. Changed the battery to see if that would help but no. I thought buying salter it would be a decent product but no there utterly useless and I can even get a refund/RTN as I persevered with them for longer than a month, complete waste of money!!

Very convenient
Bought this to go alongside another cheaper Salter scale that I already use. Main reason for buying this is for the quick reset function, so I could quickly zero it and add extra ingredients without taking the mixing bowl off the scale - it really is quick and reliable, just press it once, let it flash a few times and that's it zeroed.A welcomed feature I didn't expect is that if you zeroed the scale with a mixing bowl full of ingredients, then start to take stuff off, it will show you how much you have taken off, ie it will show a negative weight. Take an once off, and it will show -1 once, or grams, ml, fluid once or whatever.I have used this maybe 10 times, and it's now the scale I always go for, over the old Salter one, and over an old style traditional balance with metal weights. This is just so convenient. The battery is going strong after the few weeks, which is a good sign that it's one a battery drainer like sometimes these things can be, although not definitive proove yet.

One DOA, one failed within 4 weeks
Great design with big readout, but somethings screwy.Battery compartment or electronics are faulty, meaning it doesn’t reliably turn on. Turn it upside down, or apply pressure or remove batteries sometimes helps get it going. I’ll be requesting a refund on this second set. Sad times, our previous version lasted years.

Stopped working within 2 months
Nice kitchen scales, worked well when they were working, but completely broken after 2 months of occasional use.

Accurate
Accuracy checked with real brass weights. The switches are awkwardly located and, from their position, may well end up as food traps. The battery compartment is the Achilles' heel. Minor knocks dislodge the button batteries and stop it working - you then need a screwdriver to open the compartment and reseat them.Edit: I wonder if those disappointed with battery life are perhaps experiencing the batteries dislodging and replacing them with new ones rather than re-seating them?Disappointing design.
