Another expedition for Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. This time around, our intrepid explorers take on the task of finding the source of the Nile in three barely roadworthy estate cars. After surmounting the worst that the local hotels and traffic jams can throw at them, the dynamic trio set off into the heat of the African sun, taking dense forests, the ferocious wildlife, and wheel-sucking mud in their stride - well, almost.

Were Looking For The Source Of The Nile.....So Who Had It Last ?
Here's £1500 chaps,go and buy a second hand estate car,and then meet up in Uganda.Your mission, should you choose to accept it,find the true source of the river Nile. And so,armed only with their wits, and the usual levels of incompetence,Jezza,Hamster and Captain Slow go blundering about in the hope of going where no motoring show has gone before. So as you can see its business as usual for the Top Gear Trio, bickering their way across Africa,in three cars totally unsuited for the challenge. But that somehow rise how rise to the occasion,as do the boys themselves. There are plenty of laughs to be had along the way, including, thanks to the 12 certificate, language you wouldn't normally expect(it was beeped out on the BBC),and yes it is Jezza who is responsible. After the widely criticized India Special, this one sees them back on top form, and doing what they do best,Top Gear fans are going to love this one. There are some good deleted scenes, pity there isnt a play all selection, but if that is all I can find to complain about, show you just how good the African Adventure really is.If anyone thought Top Gear was running out of steam, this proves that its as good as ever.So sit back and enjoy 114 minutes of brilliant entertainment.

Great Adventure
I love Top Gear challenges they just keep getting better. I couldn't wait to get this dvd as on tv here in Australia they play the show while the ads are on and you miss parts. The traffic jam they were stuck in at the beginning was astounding, will never complain about traffic again. Loved the conversion of the cars into homes and some of the places were beautiful. This adventure is just so entertaining to watch would recommend it to anyone who likes a laugh.

Fun for men and boys
Its not for girls, possibly. All the men in the house love Top Gear. Are ages are 34, 7, 5, and 2 and a half. We all laugh out loud at the silly bits: the speed bumps, stealing bits off of each others cars etc etc. We love it when they convert the cars with A-Team inspired music. And as a father I feel my kids are learning something about other countries so its educational really.

Great... however...
This is very entertaining... and l laughed out loud with the fate of the log/handbrake.However... now, I know that this has a 12 certificate, but I get the Top Gear videos mainly for my daughter (11 years old) as she finds them hysterically funny on long car trips across France. This one however is (I think) the first to actually include several instances of the "F" word. As in "What the f... was that ! The f...ing airbag went off !". OK... maybe I'm a (slight) prude, and yes they all have comments on "willies", "gentleman sausage" and "lady garden", but I draw the line with casual F words, and this video will have to go on the shelf. I think I shall write a strongly worded letter to the BBC.My daughter's loss I'm afraid, as the rest is very good (except for the end, when they abandon the cars and take to foot). So, if you plan on letting children watch... draw your own line. One of the best of the "Adventure" videos though...(I know my daughter would love the two "Long way down/round/up" videos, but they're also ruled out due to every other word being F...)

Completely. Totally. Awesome!
It's a true treat to have the Top Gear series released on blu-ray - they are beautiful to behold. One of the most entertaining road trips to date - and extras that are most excellent! Looking for the title of the song playing on this version at the 14:53 mark - anyone knows it I would be most grateful! ([email protected]) Enjoy!!!

The best Top Gear Special ever!!!!
When I watched this special on TV I knew I would have to get it on DVD. The Top Gear boys have done some funny and great adventure specials before but I found this one really good. The DVD has extra deleted scenes unseen on TV.A worthy buy if you enjoy Top Gear.
