Q: The box says #12 140-270 mesh, but description say 70-100 mesh. Which is it?

I'm sorry about that. That is a typo on my part. It is 140-270 mesh.

Q: How is this for etching on glass bottles?

It will do it. However Aluminum Oxide is much more effective for glass etching. I personally like the 120 grit but you can look at the chart and see what you might like best. I've attached a link. Q: Does glaas beads work with aluminum alloy rims?

Yes they are safe to use on aluminum alloy rims. Personally I would use a #8 or #10 instead of the #12. But all three will work and leave a nice finish.

Glass beads are defiantly the answer. They are gentle enough for brass while also leaving a nice finish.
