Excellent version of my old saw, fantastic piece of equipment

A super saw, I just couldn’t get it to stay accurate - surprising for what appears to be a very robust machine.
I had high hopes for this saw especially as it did not have the more recent, and now tradesman dreaded, Makita slides but unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. The aluminium base is solid and it feels tough and trade rated but the two issues I have are with the kickback on start-up which I found quite dangerous, unless you had lifted the blade totally clear of the work on startup and the fact this saw would not stay accurate. I am a bit spoilt because my 305mm saw has soft start which gets rid of a lot of the kickback and this is even considering it has a much bigger blade. My biggest issue however was the inability of my saw to remain accurate. I used a square to set everything up and then after doing a bevel cut or moving the table the entire saw would be out again! Even when locking the depth stops solid. I still don’t really know what was causing this as everything still remained tight. I wonder if I got a bad twisted unit or if the transport company had dropped it. I will give it three stars because if it was just a bad one that I had then my only gripe would be the lack of soft start. It cuts well, has a great capacity for a non-sliding saw and feels solid as iron. No one else on Amazon or wider searching seems to have the same issues as I have had so I think it is worth a punt. Amazon’s return policy is super and all was sorted out within hours of me dropping it off to be returned.

missing bits
This is a great tool but some pictures show it comes with support arms.... it does not.... which is disappointing.Even on the manufacturers website it is misleading to show these arms which are not included and don't seem to be available as an accessory either. Makita get right either it does or does not come with these parts.

Only kidding I am a joiner.
Does exactly what it says on the box. Completed 8 x 4 metre decking straight from the box. Great piece of kit wish I had bought one earlier.
