The little box that rox....It is quite an amazing little amp for the money

So, there's a lot of hype surrounding this product; I see many customer reviews waxing lyrical on just how incredibly good sounding this device is. I decided, therefore, to put this to the test - well, just the pre-amp section (which is where it all happens).When I received the product I put it in between an Arcam rDAC and an Arcam Alpha 9 power amp; I used the headphone socket on the Alpha 9 (not the best due to its high output impedance, but I was using 250 ohm Beyer cans so the combined voltage divider didn't mess around with the headphone's frequency response). I must say I was quite shocked at just how good it did sound; there was an organic nature to the sound which rendered tonal colours beautifully, but timing was also effortless. Going back to an Alpha 7 as pre-amp the sound became more hi-fi and less music, although still highly listenable. Out of curiosity I then decided to test the T9's DAC by using a USB connection to my computer - I was completely under-whelmed, the sound lost it's effortless musical presentation and became, to my ears, difficult to listen to (in comparison to the rDAC previously feeding it).I didn't bother testing the power amp section, since I only purchased it for its pre-amp capabilities, which it delivered in spades. Anybody looking for a capable pre-amp at comparative bargain basement price might well consider T9. I've read some reviews that had their T9 deteriorate over time, so that is an aspect to consider; if this were to happen to me, I'd consider modifying it, since one of my hobbies is restoring old (analogue) hi-fi gear. However, given the T9's origin, product longevity may me an issue, depending on the maufacturer's QC.

For the sheer value alone this is spectacular! I was skeptical about how this would sound having come from far larger analogue equipment and I could not be any happier! Had to get used to connecting components using different types of connections, but once it was all sorted it sounds fantastic!

It only arrived yesterday and I'm already blown away. I've upgraded from an old Onkyo SR606 home theatre amp paired with Mission LX2 bookshelf speakers. I should also add that I have a Fiio KA13 DAC which I use too. I always though the Onkyo had good sound but a lack of desktop space meant I needed something smaller. This amp certainly does the job. As a middle aged man who's hearing will have been affected by the ravages of time and a youth going to loud concerts I'm not certainly qualified to describe the sound quality except to say it's better than the Onkyo and I'm now trying lo listen to as much music as possible. For the size and cost it's impressive VU metre is decoration and he remote is only really suitable for volume control but definitely money well spent. I just hope it lasts.

Very good if not great quality for the price. Surprsinglt compact size, with a variety of input connections so difficult to find these days. Should be commended for being able to swap out the tubes, allowing a little versatility in the desired sound. Replacing them is also easy should you need to because of the easy plugs at the top of the unit.Great Bluetooth and east of use in connectivity, although it is disappointing tint that the control has so many buttons that are not used on this amp, showing a bit of cheapness as it could have been more condensed. Only the top 50% of the controller has any function.The worst thing for me, considering the style and vibe the amp is going for is that the LEDs showing what input selection is active are super bright blue. Especially considering they are directly next to a vintagely lit VU display, in soft orange, they stand out in any room that is not lit like a magazine brochure as odd and eye catching. If you place this anywhere near eye site it will strike you without notice. I have already resorted to putting a small please of blue tac over the LEDs of my most used inputs indicators to avoid the blinding gaze.This ends up looking hideous in daylight, but in anything but full sun it works way better. I miss the days of softer ‘indication’ LEDs to show me what was active, rather than not just these blue but sharp almost laser lights that seem to be on so much tech these days.Otherwise it would be a 4 star.

This is an excellent surprise. I never expected anything so cheap to be so capable in spite of all the positive reviews which claimed this to be true.I have some far more expensive equipment and this presents itself admirably.Well worth trying this before spending big bucks on something else.

Worked and sounded great for just over a month, then stage IUse for the turntable just stopped working. Pity

This is one of the best things I ever bought. Works great, sounds great. I had a €1000 Yamaha amp, and this is every bit as good, if not better. Very clear sound without being sterile, great versatility, looks great. My only complaint is the idigital nputs seem to be a bit high gain, meaning the lowest volume can't be achieved on coax without it switching off. The sound can be pushed into slight distortion. This is a minor complaint though and literally the only thing I've found to complain about. I use Bluetooth, vinyl and cd and find myself listening to old stuff just to see how it sounds. Look out for Prime deals and this is an absolute bargain. Just add a pair of good bookshelf speakers, would recommend a pair that are not too bright as the amp has plenty of brightness and has good control over bass and treble.
