Singer sewing machine - Model 2263

Thought i would comment after 9 months of having it and used weekly sometimes 4 or 5 times a week....So here goes....Its brilliant, every use is a great ending. Look no further.

After years of struggling with my built like a battleship old Singer 317 I only wish that I had not delayed buying one of these flimsy new-fangled machines that actually work. This bargain, I discovered only when it arrived, was presumably because it is a Scandi model with a euro plug and a manual written in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, no English anywhere. Not to worry, it wasn't difficult figuring out how to operate it, much the same as any sewing machine. Apart from not latching in reverse I can find no fault.

First of all this machine does not have an Automatic Needle Threader. Secondly it comes with a 2 Pin Plug. Thirdly it comes with an Instruction Manual in NORDIC. But apart from this a very good well built machine.

This sewing machine is easy to use, practical and portable. I had not used a sewing machine for 25 years, the instructions were excellent and it was just like being reunited with an old friend but with well thought refinements.The first machine did not arrive by the delivery date, having been terribly excited about it's arrival I was so disappointed. However the supplier was excellent in this sorting the problem out and another machine arrived a couple of days later. Now I am one very happy soft furnishing maker!I cannot rate Coopers Sewing Machines and my sewing machine highly enough, both were first class.A big thank you to Coopers Sewing Machines who were very kind and sent me some extra threads and an awesome scissors set for the delay in my machine arriving. Coopers Sewing Machine were superb, thank you.

I haven't had a chance to use this machine, but as a long-time sewer I can see it is the loveliest piece of equipment and I am already sure it will be perfect for all the domestic jobs I want to do. Perfectly packaged and arrived so quickly - I was amazed! Such wonderful value for money too! New cushion covers are the first job on my list. The accessories pack is very comprehensive, but I have already ordered a piping foot (which is arriving today ... more excellent service from Amazon!) so cushion-making starts this afternoon. Can't wait!!!

Hi sorry that this is a negative review but I have to return the machine due to a few reasons. 1. The threader is broken, 2. The needle is stuck in a position off centre to the left, 3. The thread keeps stopping, breaking, tangling even with high quality thread 4. Wrong booklet came with it which is not a biggie. Shame as it was such a hassle to obtain the machine in the first place. Need to mention it was a second hand machine advertised like new.

The sewing machine was delivered before scheduled time, which is always welcome! It runs smoothly and quietly and there is a good choice of stitches and stitch-sizes. At first I found it difficult to thread the cotton through the thread take-up lever, as the one on my original machine was more easily accessible, but I discovered that it is easy if you take a sideways approach to it (i.e. one hand above the other whilst holding the thread). I have managed to get some thread caught in the machine but I guess this happens with most. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
