Amazing animated film
I’d never seen Finding Dory although I’ve seen it’s predecessor many times with my various nephews and nieces. It’s never been on Terrestrial TV in the U.K. as far as I know so in the end I decided to see if I could get a DVD. This DVD is no doubt cheaper now but I’m so pleased I got it, as ana dull there are always things that are entertaining as well as it’s suitability for children. The story is amount Dory finding her family, and is a well told tale with excellent animation. Overall a cracking family film.

Finding Dory's family
A sequel to the Pixar classic animation 'Finding Nemo' arrives. It will help to have seen Finding Nemo in order to get into this. But if you haven't seen that by now, then where have you been all these years?Dory is now happily settled with Marlin and Nemo. But then she remembers she has parents. Who might be looking for. A quest begins to find them. Which takes the fish into a very unfamiliar territory, in the shape of a sea life park. New friends await. But will a family reunion result?A sequel that was definitely worth the wait. It gets by on the strength of familiar and well loved characters. But it also does things somewhat differently to before, by virtue of the new setting. Sneaky Octopus Hank, voiced by Ed O'Neill, stands out from the new crowd. There's a really great surprise cameo. And the animation is simply gorgeous and stunningly inventive with it.Just not quite a five star film though because it lacks the originality and freshness of the new that the best Pixars have. But it still remains highly entertaning viewing for all ages, and is well worth a watch. For more of Hank, keep watching the first half of the end credits. And stay to the very end of them as well, for a funny and delightfully surprising extra scene. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options:Languages: English, Hindi, Italian.Subtitles: English, Italian. It is also English audio captioned. The disc, as ever with Disney ones, begins with a few trailers which can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote. And which you can see all again in the sneak peeks section of the disc anyhow.Extras:Piper, the short film that played with this at the cinema. The story of a young sea bird learning a few things about life. Stunning animation and a nice little tale. Not one that will live in the mind as long as the best of the shorts, but not bad.An audio commentary from the director, the co-director, and the producer.

Gone Fishing
I was sceptical before watching this, that it would be a rehash of the original in an attempt to cash in on a very successful film.I was wrong. The idea is the same: fish loses family, fish goes on adventure to find family. This does even have a couple of minutes of footage taken from the first. However, this film in my opinion is better than the first one. Dory has several memory jolts during the course of the film, as well as remembering things from her past without the context. The octopus easily steals the show here, and with his desperation to get away from the ocean, there could be scope here for a third film.Overall, you should be watching this film, whether you are young, or just young at heart. In fact, even if you are old at heart, and hate cartoons, and fish - you should watch this.

Great film
This is a great family film with a message of acceptance of self, teamwork and never underestimate yourself. I don't want to ruin the film for anyone who hasn't seen it, but if you haven't, this is a sequel to "finding nemo" and features a fish called Dory who has short term memory loss. Dory starts to remember snatches of her past and sets off on an adventure to find her parents. This DVD also contains a short film called "Piper" about a little bird setting off from the nest for the first time.
