Q: Could this be used to seal furniture painted with emulsion / chalk paint? Items are getting heavy use so wax won't be enough.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work, unless the painted surface is flexible eg cushioned seats etc If the surface is solid eg cabinet etc then it should work. I've used mine to coat miniature figurines that are meant to be handled using essentially very similar paints, and they are fine. The problem may be with handles where you might use a twisting motion, that might cause the paint to wear quickly. The tip is to apply thin coats that dry quickly, then apply another, don't go for one all out heavy spray as it's likely to 'run'.

As far as I know it should. I use it for sealing transfers I have put onto models. You need yo use it in a well ventilated area as it has a high odour

Yes it can be wiped over but you will need a lot of cans for all those kitchen doors, especially as it might need two coats!
