Q: Are these men's are boys shorts? They're listed as "men's" in one place and "youth" in another.

They are men’s shorts. They are small though. Similar to old high school x-country or track meet uniforms.

Q: how stretchable is the elastic drawstring, can you put the pants on/off without untying the drawstring every time?

The waist band was stretchable, but I had to untie it every time. I also did not like the way the legs kept rolling up when trying to exercise. I ended up giving them away.

Q: I’m 6’1 with 34 inch waist what’s a good size ?

size large. I'm 5'11 and wear a 34 and thats what I got.
