Max BMW taped a gasket to the box so I wouldn’t need to buy one separately. I am sure it doesn’t cost them much extra but sure earns a lot of good will!

Duh... it's an oil filter! Expensive, could be bigger?
A review of an oil filter is a bit silly, but it's OEM, easy and very messy to replace, room to make it longer for more filtration. Be sure to get the correct model, not what Amazon says is correct!!! Check with your manual, existing filter number or manufacturer cross references. (First one their parts-finder suggested was for an older RT - I could tell by the external facets for removal, then cross-checked the numbers - don't trust the A-parts finder!)As to mileage, I',m a rider, not a scientific spectrographic equipped fluids lab! Use synthetic and replace at 4,000 miles. Safe travels!

Amazon says K&N fits but shifter hits nut. This OEM & Mahle only fit for BMW K1600gtl
