My job is on the road(Inspector) and my truck is my office. I drive an F-150. This steering wheel tray is used primary as a desk top. The product is fairly sturdy but how it is attached on the steering wheel makes the product feel flimsy. You can't be heavy handed as far as leaning on the tray or resting your hands on the top of the tray. You won't be able to lean or rest your arms on it. I currently use a Mac Air laptop. It is ok for this size laptop. If you have anything larger(ie 17-inch), it will be a challenge. I did not use the reverse side that serves as a food tray because I prefer not to eat in my vehicles. Also, if your belly is close to the steering wheel at the furthest setting possible, then this is not for you. Cheers!

Very thin. I don’t know what is going on with the reviews saying this is thick plastic, it does fit on my steering wheel if I angle it right but it’s so weak it flexes and the laptop bounces. DO NOT BUY this item. It’s not worth 9$.

3-1-20I'm reviewing the Lightter Wheelmate Car Table. Simply put, this did not fit well on my truck's steering wheel. I wanted it to work, but it seemed the cutout wasn't exactly right, that it may need to be deeper?I tried attaching this thing to my wheel, in a variety of different positions, including the steering wheel being clocked or rotated in different positions. No go. I work from my vehicle, so filling out work orders from this "table" seemed like a great idea. This brand seemed to be the most cost effective of all the ones I saw, and because of the low price, I didn't bother returning, even after finding out it didn't fit on this vehicle.I will try this on a few of the other vehicles I own, just to see if it is just an issue with this particular steering wheel or not, but I have not been in a hurry to do so, since the intention was to use it in the work vehicle.I do like the construction. It is made of plastic, like the plastic used in blow molded cases for tools. It has 2 sides to it, 1 for the scribing or writing along with a slot for a pen or pencil, and the other side for eating, which I just don't do. I don't like to eat out of my vehicles, unless it's outside on the tailgate or someplace it's easy to clean up. An area I don't care if I drop crumbs or if a drink were to accidentally spill.I would not recommend this table at this point. I will update once I try this product on the other vehicles. The vehicle I intended to use it on was an 86 S10 Pickup, the work vehicle in which this product did not work on.***UPDATE***4-15-20I had to change the rating from a 1 to a 3, because this does in fact work on 1 of my other vehicles. The 2000 Mercury Sable, equivalent to a Taurus. I do have trouble getting in on, because of the steering wheel cover, but nothing too difficult. I think it makes it a more secure fit. I install it and tilt the wheel down... which then levels the "table". Works on both table sides. I'm still frustrated that I couldn't use it on the vehicle I purchased it for. I will try a few more vehicles and update.

This tray is great. During the pandemic, I have often had to eat in my car due to socially distancing. It is hard trying to eat with food trays balanced on my lap. Searching Amazon for a solution, I found this tray. I am so glad that I did! It is sturdy, fits perfectly and can't really be knocked off while in use. I love it! Problem solved. Will be great for road trips, too. :)One side is for eating and has a cup holder (see photo), the flipside is for working with a laptop and has a pen holder slot. The picture I uploaded shows the fit in a Fiat 500X with a water bottle in the cup holder.Make sure you install it correctly, you might have to turn your steering wheel upside down as I did for it to fit the shape. Also, there is a proper way to install it by lifting the tray up at a 45 degree angle over the wheel then pushing down until it's flat. Either this listing or another one on Amazon contains a video showing the correct install method. (I had been trying to attach it to my wheel straight on attaching one arm at a time when I first received it. Thought that it didn't fit my wheel until I saw that video.)Definitely recommend this product. Great gift idea, too.
